Calling all dietitians/PT's! I'll be graduating in December with my BS in Nutrition/Dietetics, taking the DTR exam in January, and then waiting (patiently?) for match day. I'm also a CPT with tons of specialty certifications Anyway. I have 50 lb to lose, after gaining about 35 lb in the last 8 months (about 25 of those since Feb). I know I can't be the only one - we teach our clients how they should be eating and tell them exercises they should be doing... but... do as I say, not as I do? Looking for some advice from like-minded people. I have all the tools necessary, I know how weight loss works, I just haven't been following my own advice.

Somebody has to say something...
Gaining 6 pounds a month suggests (to me) that you've been studying like crazy, and short-cut eating stuff you know is bad for you.
I assume you are young, so there is plenty of time to straighten out...6 months til your exam?
Start following your training and advice NOW!!.. I hate to say it, but people don't trust Doctors who smoke, and also don't trust overweight dieticians...it's 'unfair' in some ways but true.
Just do it..6 months. If it fails, then you have a problem. Either:
1) You follow the training/advice to the letter, and don't 'fix' the problem; ie the advice/training is wrong
or 2) The advice/training is good, but impossible to follow (making it bad advice, but for a different reason).
You really need to sort this out this year...success will have a very good impact on your career.
All the best Rob K

Oh, I definitely agree, you're on point. There have been a lot of factors - leaving a f/t job to work at home, going off medications, depression, knee injury, etc... but I'm not here to make excuses. I know weight loss is a numbers game, and I've been ignoring that.
