Any "Biggest Loser" fans out there?

It's on right now where I live.

I tell you, I used to REALLY like the show, watching people fight to reach their goal, and everyone working together.  And to show what could be accomplished!

But tonight (and to a point the last season or two), it seems to be TOO big on product placement, and putting people against each other - not putting people against their own goals!

It's now all about who stays and who goes, with way too much "game play"! (Like "Survivor")

I love the show! I love watching it while I work out on my treadmill, almost like Bob and Jillian are yelling at me too! Dolvett isn't bad, but he's not Bob or Jill.

I haven't been able to get into it as much this year. Maybe it's the trainer save, or that they gave Jill a hard time over the caffeine pills (the idea of which is funny because I got to watch the Australian Biggest Loser (season 1) and they disqualified one guy for using vitamins LOL)

I haven't watched the last few weeks yet, I keep wanting to watch them while on my treadmill, and then life gets in the way... Excuses excuses I know.

I still think the show is very positive overall. I wish they would do a Canadian version, or at least allow Canadians onthere one year.

I am a fan of Biggest Loser. I actually like the show better this season for several reasons, if you go below the red line you are out, none of the contestants vote people out, it seems like less game play to me this year than in other seasons and a bunch of others. I don't like the product placement either but I don't pay attention to it. I look for the positive aspects, I watch the exercises that are going on in the background to give me ideas, I use it to help motivate myself to get moving-if they can do it so can I kind of thing 🙂

I watched it last night while I was walking on my treadmill and for about 15 minutes after it ended just because I was more motivated. It is one of those "take what positive messages you can from it and leave the rest behind" shows. Just my opinion.

Like HeidiM, I too prefer no more yellow lines.  I thought there was much more "game play"  in past seasons when you weren't eliminated by lowest weight loss alone.  What I don't like is how nearly every challenge has an element of chance which makes the winner somewhat random.  IMHO that can make the "wrong" person get eliminated.  The trainer saves helped compensate that early on, giving people longer to learn techniques while on the ranch.

With only 1-hour shows this season, I think way too much time it devoted to the weigh-in and not near enough to the work-out sessions.  But I'm glad to be rid of the voting.

I'm a fan and find it motivating. I like this season where they don't vote on who goes home. That never seemed fair. You can really see that diet makes a huge impact on weight loss. Oddly I don't mind the product placement ads. I just wonder why Jillian's teams seem to struggles.

I also like that they do not vote who goes home anymore. I think it better that way.

I prefer the red line. All the cattiness and fighting, lying, maniuplating in the past few seasons made it almost unbearable to watch. The product placement...well what are you going to do. They are a business trying to make money. I've even seen "Biggest Loser Celery Sticks" at the grocery store. Give me a break. I really wish they would bring back the 2 hours though. I like seeing them workout. And I feel like I don't know any of the contestants.

I'm really upset that Jillian's team seems to get picked on. I didn't watch this week's episode yet but I listened to Jillian's podcast last week & she was mentioning how one of her contestants goes home (she didn't say which just that it hadn't happened yet) she absolutely loses it and feels awful. She said you'll be able to tell which one. She thought she would have more time with that particular contestant & be able to teach them more.

I loved the show for several seasons. This season Im not as into it. I think it is because I want more about the food changes then it is giving. I also want more details on how they learn the new work out routines. ha. Listening to myself right now it seems i am wanting my own personal trainer. Hmmm maybe an idea...

I haven't watched last nights yet but agree that more real meals would be a good idea. They do have several BL cookbooks and their website has a few recipes.  Have you seen the ads for the BL resorts? Now that would be fun.You should look into a personal trainer in your area. The young lady that does my hair has one at the 24 hour fitness by her shop. I think that one is called Anytime Fitness so membership is only $10 plus extra cost of trainer.

I love the show. I prefer the red line. I have enjoyed this season so much more than last. I was blessed to have met Dolvette and he is so nice and real.

I used to watch the show when I came home from the gym on Tuesday nights.  But, now I don't find it worthwhile -- too much product placement for my liking, and some of the exercises/advice is plain wrong, or even dangerous.   In the early days I found it unessessary that men had to remove their shirts to get weighed, now I feel this is pure exploitation.

So, no.....not a big fan.
