Hey folks,
I've had Dr. Fuhrman's book for a while, but I am just now really getting into it again and implementing this new way of eating. Anyone else out there heard of it and using it to lose weight?

Lisha, this is an excellent book and I highly encourage you to give it a try! I have read many plant based eating books (and still have several I have not read yet) I was able to lose a significant amount of weight eating this way! unfortunately, plantar fasciitis and beginning to eat vegan junk food instead of the whole plant food led to some weight gained back. But I am committed to returning to whole food, plant based and am slowly starting to exercise again. I just have to be very careful with my foot, even standing too long results in me limping the rest of the day, argh! The science behind the toxins in the meat and how the body reacts to it is fascinating! Many people have been able to reverse their diabetes, lower their blood pressure and cholesterol and get off their medications from eating a whole food plant based diet.

I have not only heard of it but started it about 9 mo. ago. For me, it was not weight loss but to slow cholesterol from clogging my arteries. As a by-product of the diet, I lost 20 lbs. My problem is that there is just no flavor in the meals. I even bought some of his bottled foods to flavor the foods but that did not help much either.
The other thing I found worrisome is the amount of food I am expected to consume. No way can I eat that much!
Any ideas on how to make the meals tastier?
I have severe COPD/Emphysema as well as Peripheral artery disease and the PAD is the cause of the arteries clogging.
Any suggestions on improving the flavor would be most appreciated.
Good luck to all; may your diet and your exercise work their miracles.

I found that there was no flavor in the meals as well and went running back to Paleo after about a month 😕

Wow. This is a two year old post, but yes, I'm using it.
Did you stick with it, lisha?
