Hi all! I recently got my new fitbit one after the ultra finally died. I am really trying to stay on track this time and use it along with other activity to keep my exercising a regular thing. I have also started using the Beeminder app and website to help keep me from procrastinating too much, if you haven't seen it I highly recommend it. My main query/thought here is that I realize that weight loss depends more on food than on activity but I truly hate tracking calories/points/whatever. I would like to use beeminder to somehow "track" food without actually having to figure out calories, etc. Maybe just a quantity of small meals eaten per week? Basically, I just need to be able to quantify something in order to track it and I am at a loss here... Anyone with creative ideas on how to quantify food without using calories?

It depends on how much weight you are trying to lose.
If you are trying to lose 80 pounds, then probably you can being to shed the weight by being mindful of what you eat. For example, knowing I ate 2 slices of pizza, an apple, a salad, and 2 glasses of water an hour an a half ago helped me remember that I wasn't going hungry and that I didn't need to eat something else in between meals. And when I had 80 pounds to lose, just cutting down on the frequency and size of my meals was enough to get started.
If you are trying to lose 10 pounds to reach your goal weight, then the answer is an emphatic no, there is no alternative to tracking as close as possible what you are eating. If you are that close to your goal, you are fine tuning.
