I have tried that stuff, Phentermine if aweful! and can cause some nasty side effects, i had quite afew of these and i have a high tolerance to most things.
Rare
Incidence not known
Here is what i would do, I would eat more Complex carbs and vegetables, these keep you feeling full and keep cravings away, a Diet whey protein shake in the morning really helps keep morning cravings at bay too, good for a quick snack too.
I would spread my meals throughout the day, keeping them small and frequent.
For cardio i would mix standard cardio and HIIT cardio, alternate between them, this will keep your body guessing and stop the body getting used to the workouts.
and todate the only supplement that i have found to really help me is sida cordifolia. it does have some ephedrine in it though, so you is you have heart condition stear clear.
Good luck!

What does late night binge mean? If you are binging, I don't think you are staying under the 1200 cals.
Are you also not seeing any weight gain? If so, that suggest that by doing either the 300 minutes of cardio OR cutting out the late night binges will help you see an improvement in your weight loss.
I would stay away from any foreign substance to help your diet until last resort. If you are having late night cravings, then just changing the time of day when you have your meals can help. People typically have cravings during down times, meaning they eat because they are bored.
Lets say you have dinner at 7 and are usually ready for bed by 11, but your craving start at 10. You could start doing your cardio before dinner, and then eating a little later and by the time the cravings would kick in, you will already be asleep!
It sounds hilarious to say, but when I am really into a video game, I start losing weight because I am filling my time with an activity that keeps me from going to the fridge.

1200 calories can cause binges. Why not go for a less drastic deficit?

@Direwind I'm just about 10 pounds lighter than you. I'm not good at dieting, but I have discovered that I really enjoy the Marie Callender's meals, so I have been eating those a lot for lunch and dinner. I drink mostly water so between those two meals I'm sitting around 1000 calories. Add in a banana or apple in the morning and some tiny snack at night and I eat between 1400-1700 calories per day.
I've only been dieting for a few weeks, but I haven't had to fight any craving as far as appetite goes. I do sometimes crave carbonation (mountain dew specifically). I'm happy losing 1 pound a week with my current diet and some exercise added into my daily routine. My goal was to lose 50 pounds this year and I am ahead of that schedule.

I wish you luck, but I can tell you this from experience:
Phentermine = keep you up all night pill. I took them and could never get to sleep. 2-3am comes around and I am still wide awake.

Contrary to some of the feedback you are recieveing from others here, I did take Phentermine to loose weight and I did not have "poor"side effects. I was alert, felt great, and NOT hungry. I will say, Phentermine was a shorter release for me than Phendimetrazine Tartrate ( similar class of drug)
I shelled out TONS of money paying for a medical program (700-800 cals/day) andf trust me, I needed the Phentermine / Phendimetrazine. It curbed my appetite so my stomach had time to shrink down and accomodate the diet plan. I took it for 2 months and lost the weight ( but my diet was also a no-grain / 20g carb max diet).
I would just caution you to pay attention to possible side effects... Good luck

Oh no. Just no.
The reason you're suffering from late night binges is probably because you're only eating 1200 cals. Eat more. That just isn't enough calories for most women and your body is going to rebel. Not only are appetite suppressants dangerous but they are not a cure to a weight problem. What do you expect happens when you stop taking them? It's putting a band-aid on a broken leg.
I wager that the vast majority of people who go the route of taking appetite suppressants are currently not maintaining a healthy weight. Those of us who are, took weight off slowly and were not aggressive and eat a healthy and balanced diet full of whole, fresh, clean foods. Not only that, we learned about ourselves along the way and improved our relationship with food.
The harder you force your body to take weight off, the more problems you're going to run into losing and maintaining. It's just a fact. 90% of people who lose weight put it back on and more in the following year or two. The secret to maintaining a healthy weight is to slowly introduce good habits to replace bad habits in both your nutrition and fitness that eventually snowball into huge lifestyle changes towards a healthier you. Otherwise, you'll find yourself stuck in the perpetual yo-yo.
Credentials: I've lost 60 lbs and have been maintaining a weight of 115 lbs for a year.

Hi Crystal
What you may want to do instead of using phentermine (which is basically speed I have been on it) is get your calorie intake and nutrition straight. Its easy to find all the info online.
I would start by googling BMR calculator and be honest with your lifestyle. Your BMR rate is what your body needs to function if you stay in bed 24 hours a day (like breathing, blood flow and organs functioning)
from their you need to multiply that rate by your lifestyle(you will see where you can do this) to come up with YOUR caloric needs based on height, weight, age and gender.
http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/
Once you know this you can deduct calories based on what you are trying to lose.Get myfitnesspal app and measure every single calorie that goes into your mouth. The app has a great food database as well as a barcode scanner that makes it a breeze once you get the hang of it!!!
Fat does not make you fat !!! we all NEED fat in our diet ,over eating our calories makes us gain weight and no pill will help you learn this.I am down almost 100 pounds and this is how I did it as well as a lot of treadmill time
On a side note you can eat anything you want and do not need to remove certain foods from your diet, you need to just fit them into your daily macronutrient/caloric needs.I eat a banana split every single day ,I just fit into my diet.
Good luck

This is very good advice, but an honest estimation isn't enough. I had done exactly this a while back and came up with a 2000 calorie diet on the assumption that I burn 3000 calories a day. It didn't work, I was tired and hungry and did all kinds of late night binging. Turns out I was burning closer to 5000 calories on my work days. New diet is above 3000 calories on work days, and I've never felt better. No binges and I'm losing weight! So It's really important that you use something like fitbit to get a realistic idea of how many calories you actualy burn in a day, because I don't think many of us laypeople are qualified to make uneducated guesses in that area.

Careful with taking Phentermine. It can severely mess you up. Half of those symptoms are common in over the counter weight loss pills sold in GNC but this looks to be double the intensity. I haven't been on weight loss drugs for a long while because it counteracts Wellbutrin and weight loss drugs do not work for me.
You can control your cravings and restore your weight loss by changing what you are consuming extra. My recommendation is to buy Egg Whites. You can consume a stove pan (3/4 pounds) of egg whites for 200 calories and 40 Grams of Protein each cooking.
And your calories may be very low if you are active for 300 minutes. When I went to my dietitian, they recommended 1700 calories instead with a meal plan setup and egg whites are still permitted as a low calorie substitute for hunger cravings reduction.

Hi Crystal,
I am sure if your doctor added this to your regiment he/she has a reason to do so. I am on different meds, they also cause a few side effects, but having a binging eating disorder is not something that can be remedied by eating more carbs or adding whatever to your daily diet.
Binging is an illness that needs close attention and support of your doctor and I hope you are getting just that.
Try phentermine and if it works for you: good! If it doesnt there are quite a few other options out there that can help, like Vyvanse or Wellbutrin or (depending where you live) Saxenda etc.
I wish you all the best of luck! I am taking Wellbutrin, a few others and Victoza. It works very well for me.
Best
B.

I started Phentermine this past Tuesday and while it was an adjustment, I actually am seeing the results. It's helping me see how much food I actually am hungry for and when.
