Hi all.

7925 steps so far today so passed my goal.  Went walking near the coast and the hills were emerald green. Poppies and other wildflowers are out now.  Lovely day with a high of 76 F. Spring is here now. I love days off like today.

My knee is managing to hang in there with increased walking. Tonight I am trying to consume water and tea.  I had salad and Thai pizza like flat bread with gorgonzola cheese, red peppers, onions and chicken. Yummy.

I'll weigh in tomorrow but scale is acting like a trampolene. Fighting the last 12 lbs. again.

Stick with it everyone.

All the best,

Barbara

Welcome Samour.

Well not a good weigh in as I'm only .6 of a lb less than on Apr 4 when I began.  Did some late night munching on wheat chex so that didn't help. Stayed up way too late and then slept in. OK time to reset and do my tax extension this afternoon. First I get to water outside plants and dump clothes in the washer.

Finally got the taxes in...and it didn't cost much by way of chocolate stress eating.

My body is doing it's usually when I start:  I have been walking more, drinking more water, eating more salads and lean protein, and gained 2 pounds.

But...I'm not stressing....  (yet).  It seems to take my body some time to get the message that I'm serious about this.

@dancefoxtrot  I remember the trampoline effect!  Up two, down 1, up 3, down 4....etc.  Crazy.  So far, I'm an elevator going up.  But, getting healthier.

The activity that seems impossible today, will soon be your warm-up

Hi again,

Looks like I'm posting many days in a row. Reversed trend and got back to 152.8 so that is encouraging.

Hope that you are moving toward your goals. Off to work now to add some dance steps.

Best to you all,

Barbara

I feel I'm doing well in meeting goal.  I live in the Northeast and nicer weather has finally arrived so it's easier to get out and run/walk and clean up the yard.

I am a little late to this challenge. Just a little background about me: I have struggled with weight my entire life. When I was 12 years old I was 6'1" and 230lbs, I had fluctuated between 250 and 350 all through High School. After 10 years of trying I had finally lost enough weight to join the military, I was in the Army about 9 years ago when I was involved in a motorcycle accident. I was unable to continue my service due to my injuries and I became very depressed, to finally make it only to have it all taken away in an instant was heart breaking. I turned to food to drown my sorrows, I ballooned up to 500+ pounds with a 64" waist. I went through Gastric Sleeve surgery and with the help of my fitbit I am almost half the man I used to be. At my thinnest I only weighed 245lbs while in the Army, I would like to get down to 240 just so I can prove to myself that I can still accomplish whatever I set my mind to.

@Bobbinyc  and everyone,

Well I got lots of steps in last week by doing aerobic class and bird watching.  I have taken lots of photos of the egrets and herons in the rookery in a nearby city.  Trying to get enough sleep and most days getting 7+ hrs a day but aiming for 8 hrs.  It is all about going to sleep by midnight and being able to fall asleep.  Walking helps me fall asleep more easily.

Happy Spring, Easter or Good Passover everyone.

Happy Day,

Worked on cleaning a bit of the cluttered garage and pulled weeds in the garden yesterday. I nice reward of a .8 of  a lb less this morning. Hope not to reverse the downward trend by Easter Dinner at my son's home.  He makes excellent dark chocolate and even 70/30 has 30% sugar!!!  Only 10 more lbs to go so I need to stay active and not eat late at night. Maybe, just maybe I can make goal as it is 2 lbs away.

GOAL WEIGHT BY 5/12/2019 – 150

Since it’s May 1st I thought it appropriate to post today. For me, renewed confidence and energy are always a plus and definitely on the 1st of the month.  8 pounds gone so far and I know setting my mini goal of losing 2 pounds has helped a lot. In the past I have set mini goals at 5 and even 10 pounds and it seemed like those numbers just sabotaged my weight loss efforts and my confidence. I have not even set an ultimate goal.  For now, just going to keep plugging away at losing 2 pounds at a time.

12 more days in the challenge!

I did not weigh in this week (too much going on) but plan on weighing Saturday. I agree with @SQUEAKY , May 1st is a great time to re-assess, re-energize and re-focus.

Surprised it's not higher due to lack of movement and fast food (my arch nemesis) over the last two weeks.
