Aria Scale won't work, ZERO response from customer service

Got the scale a couple of weeks ago - it set up for the first time, and then, thereafter, would not work.  It goes to a black screen now.  Contacted support, they told me to do what I had already done (from reading these forums), remove batteries, etc.  Does not work.  Goes from HI to a black screen with an ERR message.

I have e-mailed, and re-emailed Fitbit support, asking for the return Fed Ex slip that I was told would be forthcoming, and I have not had a response.  Nothing.

I want to return this scale, and I want my $ back, but I'm getting no support from Fitbit.

I have an Aria, and have had none of these issues.  I would definately return it.  Mine worked out of the box.

I got the scale, but can not get it to work.  I have tried about 10 times and it continures to try to connect to the internet and it turns off.  I spoke with my sister and she said it took her many tries.  I put it right next to the modem, so don't know what is wrong.....any ideas?

It took me over an hour to set up Aria. The biggest issue was my router was set to mixed when Fitibt requires it to be set at 802.11b....I didn't initally change the setting because I have other wireless devices that required 802.11b and have never had a problem with it set to 'mixed'.

So, after about a dozen failures, I finally decided to tweak the router. I had not touched any of the router settings since I bought it several years ago, so it took a little bit of reseach to figure it out.

The whole processes was some what painful, but I must say, I have been happy with the scale since. Good luck!

  • Pull the plug out of the router and modem and reboot after one minute
  • Limit how many WiFi connections you have active. Like early bird 5:00 am weighins when nobody is connected.

Having too many connections all at once chokes the WiFi router. The scale nor your phone would work properly if you're choking the router with Nintendos and XBOXs streaming or your PC.

Sometimes even Netflix has issues connecting if you have 3 WiFi TVs watching Netflix movies.

There is a pinhole on the bottom of the scale, use a paperclip to press the reset button inside this pinhole.  When I received my Aria it was completley dead and wouldn't even turn on with fresh batteries, resetting the scale fixed my problems, and may fix yours.  Nowhere does Fitbit suggest doing this...  Best of luck.

@HRHA I'm sorry to hear that you had some trouble with your Aria! It looks like Support was able to assist you back in September, so I hope the issues have since been resolved.

@boomer12 Have you already contacted Support at 877-623-4997? They'll be happy to walk you through setup and help diagnose anything you're experiencing.

@larrypo09 I wish the setup process had been less painful for you..but happy to hear that your Aria has proven satisfactory since. Great points @josephz2va.

The reset recommended by @rich6490 is not officially endorsed; I wouldn't recommend doing this, though it's great that it happened to work out for you!

Well it may not be officially endorsed, but I couldn't get ahold of customer service either when my brand new $130 dollar scale wouldn't work out of the box...so I had to figure it out myself! Didn't realize this post was from September!
