I'm 81 and have lost 25 pounds since 2001. I took two simple steps: 1. I started walking and increased my steps until I reached 20,000 steps/day. That's easy for a retired "morning person". I also gae up foods that were bad for me. First I gave up donuts (Three per week. It was easy) the next year I gave up soda. Then I stopped going to McDonald's. Each year I picked a target for something to stop eating. I weighed 183 when i started (I started because i was buying a new pair of pants and had to buy a 36 inch waist. I kept walking and eliminated some kind of junk food every year. I still haven't had a donut since 2001.

Start walking and walk as you can at the start. Then, after a few months, increase your walking until the weight starts coming off. Enjoy your walks and stop unhealthy eating. The weight will come off slowly, but it will stay off. You'll look and feel better. Now, 25 years after I started I weighed 148 this morning. My fitbit says I've walked 91 million steps since 2012. I'm aiming for 100 millions steps.

It's not hard, but it does take a long time.

Hello there Beth! I think what works best in the beginning is to replace unhealthy food with a healthier version of them. Also try to start your day with a savory breakfast maybe a piece of bread with a slice of cheese. Preferably sourdough bread that is good for gut. I make my bread at home but am sure you can also find a good one in stores. I don't eat right away when I wake up to prevent glucose spikes. I instead go for a short walk then have breakfast. I also have it as a rule that I don't eat after sundown, around 6pm.

Try to stay motivated and eventually it will all become a habit and you wont even notice the changes!!! Have a wonderful rest of your day darling!!!!
