Hi everyone!
A very important part of loosing and managing weight is to be disciplined, but I've seen many many people (including me) struggling with this. It's certainly one of the most important skills to develop while growing up and it does play a huge role in us reaching our goals in life!
How do you become consistent and disciplined? If a person is just not naturally disciplined or was not raised in that way, what would you suggest them to develop self discipline and stay committed to a routine and diet?
Feel free to share your experiences with this! 😁

I definitely need discipline with food!! I’m not very good. I stay healthy by walking as often as I can. Live beat the Lake District in England, roughly an hour away so I’m very lucky.

That's a tough one @Helengib68, being disciplined with food is one of the most difficult things when starting off with a healthy lifestyle.
That sounds like a nice place to take a walk, ,make sure to share a picture of the Lake the next time you go! 😁

This is Blea Tarn and the Langdale Pikes 😊 I’m definitely going to start from tomorrow to try harder with food, less of the bad snacks 😊

Beautiful place @Helengib68! Thank you for sharing 😎
I'm struggling with that as well, especially since I started Home Office, I've taking some extra snacks throughout the day. 😅

You’re welcome. We have too many biscuits at work. I’ve started making sure I go up and down the stairs - 36 of them 3 times a day. I’m trying to get ‘being more disciplined’ in my head 😊 good luck with home office and snacks.

Thanks @Helengib68! I'll definitely make an effort with the home snacks 😅

What do you use to track/measure your body stats?

Discipline is not something you do all at once. You can decide and commit, but you have a thousand small decisions to make each day:
* To get up and walk each hour when your fitbit says so, or to ignore it
* To take or not take more of that delicious whatever than you should.
* To get out and be active several times a week.
* To eat fruits, fiber, protein, vegis instead of low value carbs.
* To NOT have that late night snack, even though you feel hungry.
Each small decision goes together into "discipline." Discipline is something you do every moment, even when you don't "feel it."
You don't have to be disciplined in one big chunk, you only have to be disciplined in the moment, one decision at a time. It's less overwhelming to make one decision at a time

Thank you for sharing @privateice! I love this approach, being disciplined one decision and one moment at the time. 😮

I think what you do is discipline. You've stuck to a decision you've made for years and years, whether you like the activity or not.

How do I find my muscle mass and water weight?

I'm beginning to master this, finally!
I think it's all about being clear in your goals. Each morning I spend 5 minutes planning my day and write down what I need to do to make today great. I question what I need to do to move towards my long-term goals and I keep referring to the list throughout the day. I understand that no-one is going to do this for me, if I want the end goal then I need to woman up and get the hard work done!

Thank you for those suggestions @Holbops @SherryRueter!
@Holbops, writing down what I have to do for the day or the week has been of great help for me as well. I recently went from using a regular notebook to an app in my phone, and it's been just as efficient. Commitment and motivation are the key!
@SherryRueter, I definitely agree, being disciplined one small decision at the time. 😎
