Body not responding well to wt. loss efforts

ANSWERED

I know that ultimately I'm going to have to talk to my doctor about this. But, has anyone else felt physically terrible while trying to lose weight? I've adjusted my weight loss plan through the fitbit app a couple of times in an attempt to keep my blood sugar from dropping. (Low BS is a trigger for another health issue of mine.)

Or does anyone have any tips on how to avoid this and manage the blood sugar thing without looking at super sugary junk food?

I had some bouts with low blood sugar during workouts. I found the amount of starch or sugar I needed to correct this was so minimal it didn't have an effect on my overall diet. Obviously, your physician will have the best advice.

Work out...eat... sleep...repeat!

Hi @LakeishaTherese - welcome - this is probably one of those questions best answered by your doc, given that you have a medical issue related to blood sugar.

The only helpful advice I could give would be to log your eating and track your macronutrients (fat, protein, and sugar/carbs) to understand what makes you feel good versus bad.

Always hard to know how someone else feels, but I feel badly (cold, dizzy, tired, sometimes sweaty) pretty often, especially when I started out. My solution has been changing my diet which is now mostly vegetables, lean protein and some whole fruit. I think this digests more slowly so it reduces the ups and downs. Another question is how much of a deficit are you trying to maintain. I've read a lot of people on here say they are trying to live on 1200 calories/day which sounds low to me if you're doing any exercise (I'm 5-11, exercise regularly and I've been losing weight at around 1800 calories/day and I eat something every 2 hours or so). As others have pointed out, if you are concerned you should discuss your plan with a doctor, but I usually have something to eat and sit down for a half an hour and I'm good to go.
