When I started with Fitbit in 2012 I was a premium subscriber. The food logging was more extensive, and you learned that your intake vs output would lead to x-pound weight loss. You could get an idea of where you were spending your food calories as far as macronutrients go. If you had a bad week, you could look at the food log and figure out what you had to do to keep going and get back on track.
I lost 43 pounds with Fitbit and kept it off until they created the "new Premium" and/or "Coach." Both are useless when it comes to looking at a week or several weeks and seeing what you have to do to get back on track. I regained the pounds following three major surgeries. COVID only accounted for 8 of them.
I would give anything to get premium food logging back. The only reason I stopped using Spark People premium is that it does not always include Fitbit information, or does not include it accurately. At the present moment, the only thing holding me back from quitting Fitbit entirely is the synch failures that often happen on the spark people site when importing Fitbit data.
Fitbit had this awesome premium version of food tracking. I fail to see why we do not have access to it today. Furthermore, there was plenty of advance warning that Adobe was ending Flash player at the end of 2020, and yet Fitbit did nothing to replace it. Our Food Stats simply carry a message that we need Adobe Flash which is no longer available.
Seems Fitbit is only interested in making more and more different types of trackers. Not in helping users attain and maintain overall fitness which includes sensible eating.
