Hi,
In my calorie in vs calorie out chart it seems like I'm 64 calories over for the day but if anyone would do the simple subtraction then it would be seen I'm 157 calories under(2010 in 2167 out) . I see similar issues in the other days which makes me wonder what does fitbit compare calorie intake to and if there is some sort of issues with the software.

Hi @Ufuk I've moved your mom hardware question to the Manage Weight Discussion Board.

That particular tile gauge is not that useful and I recommend against using it.
It should be merely a moment in time - right then, both sides. If it takes you a minute or two to add up the figures, you just burned more.
It meant you were 64 over for that exact time comparing the 2 values.
Which nobody eats that way through the day frankly, you build up a big debt of burn, and then eat a meal.
The better tiles is probably where you got the figures to manually add it up - Food Plan where you see how much is left to the day and how much eaten, and another tile for burned so far, or estimated burn for the day perhaps.
Because there is no way Fitbit could know how much you'll burn for rest of the day past the actual reported current calories burned, there are 2 options for you to use in your Food plan section of logging.
Historical - weekdays and weekend averages of per min burn rate.
Sedentary - which is barely above BMR sleeping rate of burn, much less than other sites call Sedentary.
You probably got, or were perhaps shown, the 157 under using that full day figure which was an estimate from whatever time you looked.

I know they estimate ahead to account for calories that would be burned while you are asleep. But that wouldn't make sense for your issue. If anything, it would make you under. I am starting to record all my food starting today as I need to lose weight. I will check the following morning.
