Hi everyone! I'm looking for a way to set a minimum calorie goal, but still have the app "credit" me more calories on days that I have especially high activity. To clarify, I have a desk job, so my activity is fairly low on some days, and the calorie limits on those days end up being unsustainable for me. I'm looking for slow, realistic weight loss, and I'm not about to limit myself to 1300 calories on the days I'm less active. I want my calorie limit closer to 1900. But if I have a day when I'm especially active (which happens often), 1900 probably isn't enough. Just wondering if there's a setting on the app that will calculate this automatically and allow me more calories while still keeping me in a deficit.
****Please, no commentary on the amount that I should be eating for weight loss. It's not my first rodeo and I've done a lot of research to come up with my 1900 calorie daily limit, based on my goals and my current weight.

**Correction: I want to set a MAXIMUM calorie goal (limit). I mistakenly said minimum in my first sentence.

@Marleigh77 I've moved your, none hardware question, to the Managing Weight Discussion Board.
BTW: tap the 3 dots to the right of your post and then edit.

Marleigh, I don't know anything about "apps" . Just a funny thought...........Back in the days before grocery stores, if we needed to eat more when we were being active chasing around after food, we would have all served to death. Maybe you could consider trying to eat lower calorie food, only when hungry., If you ate food with fiber and protein in it that was filling and satisfying rather than junk. I'll bet you would lose weight. Best wishes

Thank you for reminding me why I never post on these forums with your rude, condescending and judgmental response. I’m asking a simple question about how the Fitbit works, not commentary on the quality of the food I eat. Which, by the way, you know absolutely ZERO about, being that I am a total stranger.

I found a solution, which is to use a different app for my calorie tracking which has this feature. Apparently Fitbit doesn’t have any such feature.

I was clear that I wasn’t asking for weight loss advice. I was explaining my situation and asking how Fitbit can support what I’m trying to do. It can’t, so I’m using a separate app for calorie tracking. Lose It does what I need it to do.

I apologize. I'm so sorry for being stupid and offensive. I hope the rest of your day goes better. Happy Thanksgiving.

Not sure if this will help but perhaps try to set a deficit target rather than a calories target. Instead of aiming to consume 1900 kcal, aim e.g. for eating 500 kcal less than you burn. You should get an estimate of your average burn from Fitbit data. This way, as you follow your daily income and burn, you will see your remaining allowance change depending on your activity at that day.
