I have decided since it is 90 days til Christmas the best gift I can give myself is better health. In the past 9 months I have slowly lost 40lbs give or take usually stays a between 35-40lbs. I would like to lose another 20lbs + by Christmas. This would put me at almost the halfway point for my weight loss. I was doing paleo for a while but found myself bingeing on cheat meals and eating way to many things that I shouldn't. So now I have decided no foods are off limit I will log every bite of everything and if I choose to eat more than allotted for my activity I will have to be more active to stay within my calorie deficit for the day and see how everything goes from there. Feel free to join me on this journey. Also add me as a friend so we can challange each other.

I just posted in the Halloween to Thanksgiving challenge, so I thought I would just copy and paste it to this one... lol. I apologize to the ones who are in both,, they will see it twice. But I would just say the same thing here... So copy and paste it was,..lol.
Well after a fun filled stressful, emotional weekend. I am back to get this week started. I don't feel I did horrible over the weekend, but by no means did great. I am still hoping for a lose.. I wont weigh until tomorrow, so that will tell the real tale..lol.
I really am not the best at knowing the best of all this eating/calories. I KNOW we are suppose to eat healthier, but there are a lot of times I don't eat the best foods, but don't go over my calorie budget for the day. So am I still okay in doing this? I have lost weight in the past few months, but I was talking to a nutritionist and she is not a fan of this and she is NOT a beef fan... As one might expect...lol. BUT my husband and I are... 😞 . We buy a half of a fresh beef every year which just happened to be last month. So we eat a lot of beef. I do try to prepare it more healthy. We do a lot of grilling out, and broiling... It is rare to fry any of it... But it is very hard when you LOVE meat...lol. I am adding more vegetables. We don't generally have potatoes, due to my husband being diabetic. So we are mindful of the carbs when we eat, but do not do low carb diets. We are just trying to eat healthier.
I will add my weight tomorrow, to compare where I was last week and this week. Tomorrow is the day I set my self a goal to under 175...lol. I would take 174.9...lol. But deep inside of me, I don't feel I made that. But I will pray for it up until the scale says what ever it says...lol.
Hope you all have a wonderful day!

@almost_where I really like the way you did your weeks. I think I will copy from you...lol. Hope you don't mind. Maybe it will give me more incentives to be looking at how long I have to get to my goal.. Who knows, anything is worth a try... I think looks awesome and the colors are great!

Set your own rules with regards to frequency, weigh day, etc. The only thing required is for you to set a Xmas goal--you don't even have to tell us what it is (although that's kinda silly--you can say # of pounds/kg you want to lose, if you don't want to say your current and/or goal weight).
This may just be me, but the act of putting my numbers out there, whether good or not so good, is motivating. I've had a couple of good weeks, but this week I'm cycling around the same number all week. It is what it is--plateaus (and mini-plateaus) are something we all go through, so why not share? The least motivating thing in the world is a "dead" challenge thread, where hardly anyone posts--right? Welcome!

I weighed myself yesterday but was feeilng discouraged and not in the mood to post. That was after a more-than-6-mile hike on Stone Mountain. But it is a reminder that I must be more mindful of my eating habits!

At least I have been walking more and staying more active in general. Now I just have to align the eating habits.

I remembered to weigh myself last Thursday, but then never posted. So here we go:
SW: 195.6 lbs (This is a little high for me, usually it's more like 194)
GW: 184 lbs by Christmas
Ultimate Goal: 165ish? I have been lower but didn't maintain for very long and if I remember correctly 165 was my high school weight and I was in pretty decent shape then.
I'll try to keep Thursdays my weigh in day for the sake of consistency.
Yesterday I walked to work and back, and had a total of 18,000 + steps, but also ate a lot of clearance Halloween candy. Sticking to my calorie budget is much more of a challenge for me than staying active, unfortunately. Oh well, today's a new day.

Welcome to the challenge!
agree with Annabel: Set your own rules with regards to frequency, weigh day, etc.
I found weighing daily or weekly could be discouraging as I'm extremely completitive and if I don't see what I expect get discouraged. So I only have "offical" days that I log the weight loss, then looking back see that I am consistantly loosing (thank GOD). But what ever works best for you and your motivation.
It's great to have the message boards - everyone is very supportive and encouraging. Best to you on your goals!

I've done the whole30 diet and easily dropped 10lb in a month without doing anything other than modifying my diet, but adding in gym sessions for this round.

Hi Everyone,
I'm up for the challenge of losing 10 lbs by Christmas. Need to lose more but that will do for a start. A sit down desk job at 56 years sure starts to pack on the weight as you get older. Lost it before but just need that bit of motivation to do it this round and this seems like a good group to be in with. You guys are all so positive and encouraging one another and always offering suggestion. This is Albertha from Austin, Tx.
