I have decided since it is 90 days til Christmas the best gift I can give myself is better health. In the past 9 months I have slowly lost 40lbs give or take usually stays a between 35-40lbs. I would like to lose another 20lbs + by Christmas. This would put me at almost the halfway point for my weight loss. I was doing paleo for a while but found myself bingeing on cheat meals and eating way to many things that I shouldn't. So now I have decided no foods are off limit I will log every bite of everything and if I choose to eat more than allotted for my activity I will have to be more active to stay within my calorie deficit for the day and see how everything goes from there. Feel free to join me on this journey. Also add me as a friend so we can challange each other.

Your rice dish sounds great. I enjoy rice as it keeps me full longer so it is nice to hear what other people come up with.

Well, I gained a little back this week. Combination of crappy weather (= curtailed walking) and overindulging in bread. However, I'm still losing, on average, a pound a week and I'm pretty happy with that! How's everyone else doing?

@Gayle1018 When I'm under goal on steps I put on a Leslie Sansone video from youtube. 15 min is a mile in her 'happy walk'. Now that I know her steps and pace I'll do those movements even while watching tv in my livingroom....in front of the picture window. I know I must look crazy to the neighbours, but oh well. If they don't wanna see his big lady getting a sweat on, they can look away. It's better than what I see through the window at a neighbour's house...a stepper/treadmill/eliptical with jackets hung on it. Touche! (darn, where is my french keyboard setting when I need it rather than hit it by accident??)

Although I own a treadmill I'm not that co-ordinated in the morning to use it. A full circuit of my basement is 250 steps (in and out of each room, around the desk, etc.). I make a point to do at least 2000 steps in the morning before I get into the shower. I'm lucky in that I can make a point most days at work to walk around the plant. Nobody thinks it's odd, but I don't always get that walk uninterrupted. If they did I could go for a walk at lunch. So pace out where you live and see what it is.

I get that walking around the office. Did Jiff Challenge for our company for 30 days and we would pace in our offices back and forth while on the phone (cordless headsets great for that). That was the only way we could get the required amount of steps in per day at times. I still do it when I'm on hold. Anything works when it comes to getting those steps in. Even done stepping in front of the tv. But you gotta make that one worth while. High stepping works the best and at a resonable pace to.

Hey Gayle1018,
I hate treadmills to. It may sound crazy but when I needed my extra steps I would trot from my front door to my closet door in the bedroom during commercials or a non interesting show. Thankfully my neighbor downstairs is gone in the evening plus hard of hearing. Don't know if that will help any but it's a suggestion. Hang in there!

Hi Kathy,
The important thing is that you are taking steps to do something about it. Keep up the great job and you will feel yourself getting stronger everyday. Before you know it you will reach your 6000 steps and will be onto 7000. Keep on moving and great job.
As Joyce Meyer would say, "I'm not where I need to be, but thankfully I'm not where I used to be".

Well it's a new day, Election is over.. Our Lord is still King no matter who is president!
On our weight topic...lol.. I am down 2 ounces today...lol. Yes I am counting ounces. I don't officially count my weight until Tuesday, but I did weigh this morning so figured might as well go ahead and comment on it...lol.
Tomorrow is Friday. I always have mixed emotions about the weekend. I love to be off work for the weekend, but I don't seem to do as well on my eating habits on the weekends. So I have a true love hate relationship with them.
Hope all is having a wonderful week.

@Annabel398 Woohoo! I am so proud of you. That's fantastic. I don't think I've had a healthy BMI since I was 8 yrs old. I'm back on the chart though! Just. I'm in the -alarms blaring, flashing lights, 'danger danger' on the loudspeaker- zone. For a while I was beyond it.
Here is to lowering BMI's!!!!!

@Annabel398 Congrats!!! I cant wait to be able to say that. I do feel that one day I will be able to say that. This time last year I couldn't say that, but as of today, I do feel one day I will say that!
Thanks for sharing! Such an inspiration!

@Annabel398, my boss and I were talking a bit today about weight and BMI. Both of us have always been in the obese range from teens on. We're both working on our weight. He started slightly lower than me and took the weigh off faster. Although I think he's lost his momentum a bit as work for him got nuts.
