I have decided since it is 90 days til Christmas the best gift I can give myself is better health. In the past 9 months I have slowly lost 40lbs give or take usually stays a between 35-40lbs. I would like to lose another 20lbs + by Christmas. This would put me at almost the halfway point for my weight loss. I was doing paleo for a while but found myself bingeing on cheat meals and eating way to many things that I shouldn't. So now I have decided no foods are off limit I will log every bite of everything and if I choose to eat more than allotted for my activity I will have to be more active to stay within my calorie deficit for the day and see how everything goes from there. Feel free to join me on this journey. Also add me as a friend so we can challange each other.

@BLLingg- I'm like you, I don't like seeing the 'mid' pictures as I can only see where I have to go, not necessarily where I've come from. I see definite changes in your face and in your waist. With different outfits it can be hard to compare. In the past I've done bra and panty pictures - you see lots of changes there although obviously those aren't for public consumption.

Bllingg, Are you kidding? You are looking much better to me. I must admit I also was amazed when a friend FINALLY switched from tent like dresses to pants and looked much smaller. Dresses made her look huge. I rather like your sweet face better without the glasses but at least it is a good picture with out a glare on them. Good job.

Wow! Bluedog5, Sounds like you really need some help. I wonder if there is a church or other volunteer organization that could give you a little relief. Maybe you could Yahoo the question in your town?

@Glenda, Thanks, it is not that bad. Unforunately my DH has a lot of trouble with unfamiliar faces and so people coming and going is just unsettling. It was very kind of you to make that suggestion!

@BLLingg, you should be proud!! You look fantastic, even in your Star Trek uniform And there is nothing wrong with Star Trek, especially "The Next Generation". I'm a Trekker (we're the serious fans, not the groupies) from way back, been to the conventions, autographed pictures on the walls of sitting room, etc. If you watch Star Trek you'll note there are no fat people, and neither are you. You've made some awesome progress and need to take pride in that. As you look at the two pictures you'll be more inspired to keep on working towards your goal. Live long and prosper!

Met my goal for this challenge. I used to join these challenges and update myself weekly because it helps keep me on track but now I can go on without it. Losing weight is just like a normal day now. Not having to worry about weight loss, just live, eat mindfully, exercise moderately, and lose weight.
Remember this is a battle against yourself. Only you can decide if you succeed or fail. It's going to be hard. It's suppose to be hard or else there would be no obesity. Don't rely on the scale for progress. Just forget about everything and just do what is right and do it forever. It is common sense to know what is good for us and what is not. It takes a long time roughly half a year to get yourself to adapt to this new lifestyle. Just be consistent and you'll find that you don't even have to try or stress about weight loss and still lose weight. Everyone will have a journey of their own and experiment their weight loss differently than others. Good luck to everyone.
If you want it badly enough it will happen one day. Trust me I've been wanting this for so long but I failed so manytimes and finally succeeded this year.

Okay, so the calorie counting started again today. Partly because I'm committed to a weekly lunch with my mother (even though I estimate what I've taken in) and partly because it was food and chocolate overload the last week. Although oddly enough I had way too much chocolate on Thurs/Fri and my weight came down. For me this is sometimes and indicator that I hadn't been taking in enough calories. It's almost like my body relaxes from a freaked out position and says 'okay we can let go of some of that weight now'.

A Huge Congrats to those who made their goal! Dunno how you managed but Bravo! I lost a bit for the challenge but 148 compared to my 144 Goal isn't that great. However I AM happy I lost a little and then stayed mostly the same. This is the time of year I began a year ago and I have Total faith in Jan and Feb to lose the 4 lbs plus I'd like to lose again. I hadn't experienced the holiday season until now and just didn't know how hard it would be. But Trying kept me feeling good. Best wishes everyone! See ya in another challenge!!! And Happy New Year 2 U and KOS-keep on steppin !!!

Congrats to all who made their goal! And to all like me who did not!!!! We will keep moving on. We will reach it sooner rather than later.

Ummm... yeah, so that happened... (laughing)
I totally gave myself permission to eat delicious rolls, pie, and cranberry sauce and to drink loads of yummy home-made eggnog. I ended the challenge 3# short of my goal, but 7# lighter than I started, and I'm okay with that.
Over the winter break, my daughter and I did our first spin class together. OMG, did that ever kick my butt! My legs were sore for 3 days, and my sitz-bones were screaming (hint for those who might be considering spinning: ASK FOR THE GEL CUSHION). But after four recovery days, ya know what? We went back and did another.
If you like riding a bike and/or losing yourself on the dance floor, you will love the heck out of spin class. My boring black capris and plain-jane T-shirt weren't exactly the pride of the locker room, but I saw other women wearing the same sort of gear, and the men were mostly in Ts and baggy shorts (no man-Lycra in sight). The one I went to had very low lighting, and we reserved bikes in the second row--so no self-consciousness issues. They set up the bike for me. My Charge 2 says I burned 302 calories in 45 minutes (287 the second time around). I've signed up for a package of three more classes. It won't be as much fun now that my spinning buddy is back at her home, but I think I'm still going to enjoy it a lot.
Hats off to everyone who has posted or even just kept up with reading this thread. Whether you joined in or no, RESPECT! Love 'n' snowflakes, --Annabel
