Back in November of 2013, I wore Docker pants with a size 56 waist and XXXL shirts (300 lbs).
We just went clothes shopping again (I find about every 20-30 lbs, I have to get smaller clothes).
My waist size for the pants and shorts are now 36 inch waist. Shirts are S, but not tailored fit. Still have some midriff and flabby pec fat to lose. Right around 272 lbs, now.
It's interesting, however. Clothes sizes are made more for ego than truly reflecting your waist size. A cloth tape measure shows my waist size at around 40 inches, not the 36 on my clothes. Still, going from a 56 to a 36 isn't too shabby.

I agree the sizes are more for vanity. If they weren't there would be a standard size everyone would have to use. My daughter can go anywhere between a six and a 10. I have a friend who wore a size 2 through 6 depanding on the name. Gotta love designers!

Sorry, meant 172 lbs...not 272 (gee, that was way back when...)
