Currently in college, what is a good diet cheap in price to lose weight

Food here like at most colleges aren't the greatest. I am slowly getting back into exercising but everyone tells me that I have a poor diet. What are some good diet options breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner that won't hurt my wallet? Thanks!

My suggestion is to not try to diet, but to change your food choices to more healthier items.  Little steps go farther then making big changes to fast and then they won't stay with you.  Instead of fries do a small salad, exchange your mayo for mustard on the burger, hum, limit your soda intake to one or two a day and then drink water or flavored  water with no sugar.  Increase your water intake it will decrease your appitate.  Pizza is always a weekness...very big calories, leave the meat off no extra cheese and thin crust add some veggies.  Most important is keeping a log of your calorie intake.  Find out how many calories you need daily with no exercise and keep to those calories without going over. When you start exercising your fitbit will adjust your new calorie intake.  Try to stay under that for weightloss.  Hope this helps.

Get rid of that soda all together!!!  It increases your sweet cravings and drags you down.  Up the H2O.  Eat as much fruit and veggies as you can!!  I know that is is tricky, but loose that soda!!  Water is free!!!

Take a look at the 5:2 "FastDiet."   I'm getting marvelous results; I have increased energy, I'm sleeping better, my appetite has decreased, and my wallet is healthier b/c of the reduced consumption on my two fast days.  Having this much energy makes me WANT to work out longer and harder.

I know all about the living on a budget thing and have found little tricks and tips to keep myself satisfied and healthy at the same time. My daily meals usually consist of (during my work week at least) - A jimmy dean d-lights turkey sausage breakfast sandwich...I find them on sale occasionally and buy them when they are! Grocery stores like Aldi sell similar ones that are just as good! My lunch consists of a decent sized portion of salad with some kind of protein (I usually prefer some grilled chicken or ground turkey seasoned with a cheap packet of taco seasoning!). Take a trip to the store and look around. I know we all dont have time to do that but taking some time to look things up will help.

I also eat out much less and that's been saving me tons of money too!

Hope this helps!
And don't forget, if it does, remember to mark your question as solved!

As other people said, don't think 'diet' -- think choices 'carrot sticks vs candy' that sort of thing.

Are you at a college where you are stuck with cafeteria-style food?  When I lived in a university dorm situation it was definitely challenging but it's not impossible.  I put a small bar fridge and microwave in my dorm room.  We had a common kitchen but it was kind of icky.  I would keep cut up vegetables, fruit, rice, quinoa, beans, cheese, bread, etc.  My uni had a 'weigh your own' salad bar.  The cooked foods though were a nightmare, pasta with tons of oil to keep it from sticking, fatty sauces, blech.  Stick to grilled meats, steamed vegetables. I used to get raw veggies from the salad bar and steam them in the microwave.  If you are cooking for yourself there are lots of 'clean eating' recipes around that are easy, fast, cheap and don't involve processed food.  Clean eating is a lifestyle rather than a diet, which is better in the long run.   I'm a busy single-parent who hates cooking on weekdays, so I created a weekly menu for our house and that saves me money when I shop.  I go to the store with my list so I'm not tempted when I get there to buy things I don't need.  If you drink, go easy on that.  Booze is basically sugar in a glass, empty calories.
