I had my knee surgery on May 11th (tibial tubercle osteotomy and ligament repair) and I've been stuck in an immobilizer brace 24/7 since then. My flex is sitting on my coffee table and every day I look at it and daydream about getting out and walking. I know it'll be worth it once I've recovered, but man....I miss being able to get up and go. 🙂

Sorry to hear that. But, hey, think how much better it will feel when you can walk again after having the repairs made!!

Hang in there boxerlover, i'm nearly 2 years in from two major hip surgeries (labrel tears/collapse, femral deburment and reshaping etc with many complications)
Used to ride 400ks a week, rock climb, mountaineer and a whole lot more.
Its taken a lot of discipline to stay focused on the recovery, to do the simple exercises, to avoid pushing to early and to accept that a certain amount of pain will stay with me. Started back on the bike a few weeks ago, now up to three rides a week and did my longest ride yet yesterday, a 45km ride of rolling hills 🙂 Still a lot of work to do, but staying focused, committed to the process and listening to my body. I'm able to see some light in the journey now. Let your body heal, use the down time to get your mind in the right place to commit to the process and formulate a plan that supports the outcome you want. Look after all of you, mind and body. Accept some days will be tougher than others, do the best you can everyday and I am sure you will be back doing the things you love in a relatively short period of time. Good luck to you and a wishing you a speedy recovery.

Hang in there. It's been a few years ago but I tore both my quad muscles at the same time. I was laid up from April till August and it was not until the following January that I could even think about running.
Years later one of them swells up like a softball with any type of workout, including standing for too long.
The good thing is, my friend, you"ll be up and about in no time. Take care and don't rush it. Do what the doctor tells you.
