Easter to Memorial Day Challenge 2016

Welcome to the next challenge!!!

Our challenge starts Easter March 27th through Memorial Day May 30th. (USA holiday)

To be part of the challenge you start by posting your initial weight stats and what you would like to achieve by the end of the challenge. You can then check in as often as you'd like with a weight update, to share a story from your week or start a conversation about a topic you'd like some advice on.

Welcome to all our new members, old timers, and anyone who is just following our challenge! Let's continue to work hard, meet our goals, and most important, give each other the encouragement and positive thoughts to keep all our spirits up!

Thanks to @saraj91 for the last challenge! Hope to see you again in here 🙂

@Chlz1997  I left you a post answering your questions in the last challenge just as this challenge was being started.  Want to let you know it is there.

Just got myself a fitbit on the 23rd and trying to kick some flab before my best friend's wedding on 30th April. (Gotta try to fit into that suit). When I chanced upon this topic, it felt like someone up there wanted me to really do something about it.

Hello, everyone, and Happy Easter! Thanks, @awood08, for starting this new challenge. The length of time seems realistic, and I am sure that we can all set achiavable goals. Here are my goals:

USW- Ultimate Starting Weight - 183.5 (1/7/16)

CSW- Current Starting Weight - 159.5 (3/26/16)

GW- Goal Weight - 149.5 (by 5/12/16). After this, I will be traveling overseas, and hope to maintain my new weight).

UGW- Ultimate Goal Weight (135-145 lbs, not sure; I will assess that when I reach 145 lbs)

PW- Previous Weight - 169.5 (I think!)

CW- Current Weight - 159.5 (3/26/16)

MFP- My Fitness Pal - NA.

I will walk 30 minutes/day, five times/week. During the Valentine and Easter Challenge I walked about 30 minutes, 3 times/week, and I lost 11 lbs. each time (22 lbs. total since 1/7/16). I am very encouraged by my results. I am 5' 5",  62 years young, and  I seek to develop a work-out routine and lifestyle that I can keep for the rest of my life. So far, so good, although I could always do better on the exercise part.

Best wishes to you all, and Happy Easter!

Ellie

Hi, @OCDOC. This is a two month challenge, and your goal seams more than realistic if you stay active. eat healthy, and watch your portion size. You can do it! Cheers!

Happy Easter everyone 🙂 Hope you all have a wonderful day with your families! I didn't meet my mark for the last challenge. My original goal was 175 when I started, then bumped it down to 160, but judging on my body fat percentage, I have reset to 145 as my ultimate goal. It's going to be hard, but I'm determined! Good luck to you all and I hope you enjoy the challenge and our company 🙂

I'm looking forward to doing better this challenge. The last few I've ended up only slightly below my starting weight, but I think this time will be different. 🙂

Hi everyone!!

I was just a wee bit off on the last challenge but this is such an inspirational and supportive group that I am back again..  After maintaining in the low 180's for quite some time I was able to get into the 170's in the last challenge... my goal for this challenge is to get into the 160's

My CSW is 177.8 (so far I have lost 83.7 pounds)

My goal for this challenge is to lose 1 pound/week and to get to 169 by the end of this challenge.

My UGW is 165 or there abouts...  (that is the top of my BMI range and finally after 20+ years I will be in the "healthy weight" range -- there is something very compelling about that... even if the BMI is not the greatest way to measure your ideal weight)

And this is how I propose to do it....

1.  I am going to continue with my 10K step goal but I am hoping that by the end of the challenge I will be up to 12500/day

2.  I will continue eating between 1700-1800 calories/day with the goal of being closer to 1700 by the end of the challenge

3.  I will drink at least 2500 mls (about 10 cups) of plain water every day (coffee and tea don't count for me).  I have been trying to do this for about a month now -- not very successfully but NOW I have a plan -- this morning I took out 4 water bottles that together hold that amount and every morning I will start drinking and every night I will log what I drank for the day.   I think that the visual of these water bottles sitting on my kitchen counter will help....

Hope that everyone has a healthy week!!
