Welcome to the next challenge!!!

Our challenge starts Easter March 27th through Memorial Day May 30th. (USA holiday)

Welcome to all our new members, old timers, and anyone who is just following our challenge! Let's continue to work hard, meet our goals, and most important, give each other the encouragement and positive thoughts to keep all our spirits up!

Thanks to @saraj91 for the last challenge! Hope to see you again in here 🙂

I've only lost one more pound since last week.... Oh well, I guess it's better than a gain! The go sure is slow these days though. I've decided to amp it up starting tomorrow though!

Have a great weekend everyone,

@dianenyc Sometimes you just can't fight those pizza urges!  Important thing is you got back on track!

@RubyH Gurrrrl, I know it!  My tummy has always been my problem area as well.  So frustrating!  We will get these stubborn pounds off one day!

Wishing all the mothers out there a very Happy Mother's Day!!!!

@saraj91, may I ask how tall you are? You look pretty slim in this picture. I was just wondering about the relationship between your plateau and your ultimate goal.

I hope you get well soon, and pray for God's strength for next week's challenges at work.

@RubyH, sorry to hear about those lumps under your arm. I hope that the surgery will go well and that you will be up and running again soon.

WOW, @scottie0714, Congratulations!!! I was looking at your overall progress and I am truly impressed. Keep it up, friend! There will be ups and downs. We all experience them, but the key is to build a healthy lifestyle and to keep at it for the rest of our lives.

Blessings and strength!

"1.8 pounds in 3 weeks seems easy, but my body hates me and fights me for every pound!"

@Samalama217, tell your body that you love it, and that you are going to do what's best for it. Ask it if it is willing to work with you, rather than against you. See what it says. This may sound weird but, sometimes, talking to our bodies is important to resetting our biological standards.

You are doing great. Keep up the good work.

WOW, @dianenyc, you are so close to your goal, my friend! Congratulations!

I was intrigued by the saying you shared, "When you're going through hell, keep going." I've never heard it before. I know that the 'hell' in that saying is a figure of speech, and I think I know what it's trying to say. However, from the theological perspective, by the grace of God, I prefer to stay as far away from the real hell as possible, to begin with, because once there, there is no way out (smiling).

Blessings and strength for the coming week, and Happy Mother's Day today!

I am very impressed with your progress, @bluenose1962. Keep up the good work and stay away from those beers!  As far as the clothes, I just spent a lot of money buying new ones. Thankfully, my husband was happy to let me spend them, since he knows that my ultimate goal weight is the one I am going to stick with for the rest of my life.

Keep it up, friend!

Four pounds/week, and 17 pounds since Easter is remarkable, @almost_where! WOW!!! Praise God!!!

Keep it up, Friend! You are doing an amazing job!

Hi everyone!!

Not a bad week for me… getting back on track after a not so successful April.  I did well keeping my calorie intake below 1700 (missed two days but have a 5000+ deficit for the week…), reached my step goal of 11,000 (forgot that I was upping to 11K at the beginning of the week and missed one day by 299 steps) and I lost 0.5 pounds… it is a loss so I will take it.

CSW for this challenge 177.8 on March 27th

1st weigh in April 3rd 178

2nd weigh in (April 10th) 176.7

then (May 1st) 180.2

CW (May 8th) 179.7

GW for this challenge  was 169 but I will be happy if I can get to 175 at this point

UGW 165

Hope that everyone had a happy Mother's day!!

@Bogdel Happy Mother's Day to you too, El and thanks for the snaps on being close to my goal.  I'm hoping to reach it by Memorial Day.

Re: the saying: yeah, I was speaking metaphorically not theologically.  Sartre got it right when he titled his little play on hell "No Exit."  This it would seem is the only thing he ever did get right.  But this is Sartre's problem, not mine. (I stole that line from Alice von Hildebrande.)

So yes, I am going through "hell" right now and yes I intend to keep going -- and log those steps and lose a little weight along the way.

Good night & God bless.

Tradeshow week with many in from other parts of the country - so early mornings and late nights. It was so hard to order a Cobb salad with medalions at the capital grill but i did it! Was able to pretty much maintain but am posting a revised goal weight (RGW) to keep me heading in the right direction.

@ZQuilter  I totally understand about the slow process of losing weight. It's excrutiatingly slow for me.  I don't know what else I can do other than continue getting exercise at least 5 days a week and watching my calorie intake.  I keep telling myself that I just have to keep at it and be patient.

@Samalama217 and @RubyH Me too regarding the belly! I am losing inches in every part of my body but there. I did lose some there early on but it seems like the past couple of months it's not changing. Do you two do any ab exercises? I try to do some a couple of times a week (even though I know that any muscle I develop will be covered by fat!). I've been thinking that I need to do more, as well as more walking and cardio.  Sooner or later something has to work, doesn't it?

My weekly update day.  No loss this week but no gain, either. I've been getting more exercise since the weather has gotten nicer but it hasn't helped yet with the weight gain. But sooner or later it will, right? That's what I keep telling myself!

As of 5/8:

PW - 194.6 (4/18/16)
PW - 194.6 (5/1/16)
CW - 194.6
GW - 188.00
UGW - 160.00
I hope you all have a good Monday!

Here's my stats:

USW- 214   (01/01/15)

CSW- 184.6 (03/28/16)

GW-   175    (05/28/16)

UGW- 155

Right now I am at 177.6. I only have 2.6lbs to be at my goal for this challenge. Yea me!!! But somehow I do not feel completely satisfied, I actually expected I would have blown through this challenge, ~-10lbs should have not been a problem for me. Unfortunatly, I think the low goal I set for myself, 10lbs in 2 months (I think if I pushed I could have lost between 12-16lbs) led me to relax a little too much on my routine. It is not to say I am not happy, I am very proud of where I am. I easily could have given up. I actually think the low goal loss was a benefit to me. It forces me to have to work real hard these next few weeks to reach my goal. I have already taken steps to do just that. For the past 6 days I have reached most of my goals. I know I still have work to do but I am making progress and deserve to give myself a pat on the back for all the progress I have made.

Overall setting a lower goal for myself in a way was a challenge. I am nearing the maintain stage in my weight loss. As I begin upping my calorie intake I need to find a balance of excersise and calories that will work for maintaining my weight once I get down to that weight.

More progess to come. Good luck to everyone else with their challenges.
