Welcome to the next challenge!!!
Our challenge starts Easter March 27th through Memorial Day May 30th. (USA holiday)
To be part of the challenge you start by posting your initial weight stats and what you would like to achieve by the end of the challenge. You can then check in as often as you'd like with a weight update, to share a story from your week or start a conversation about a topic you'd like some advice on.
Welcome to all our new members, old timers, and anyone who is just following our challenge! Let's continue to work hard, meet our goals, and most important, give each other the encouragement and positive thoughts to keep all our spirits up!
Thanks to @saraj91 for the last challenge! Hope to see you again in here 🙂
A little rundown of terminology for anyone who is new:
USW- Ultimate Starting Weight
CSW- Current Starting Weight
GW- Goal Weight
UGW- Ultimate Goal Weight

I don't get in here often enough so I am a little late getting started with this challenge. We have to keep pushing forward! It does get easier with eating habits changing. Here's to life long goals 😉

I'm starting week two of my cold. I did good last night though. I didn't take any cold meds last night. I woke up this morning at 9:30, went back to bed and woke up at noon. Wow!! But now I'm tired again. I'm hoping to get rid of as much phlegm as possible. I need to get rid of it before I go see my new twin grandsons on Friday.

if it is the same one I have --- it is a nasty one!!! The other night my head hurt so much I thought I had a migraine and the flu but it was just a cold... I have been drinking astragalus root tea all week and I think I am getting ahead of it... Astragalus root is a bit bitter but I have found it to be an amazing immune booster! (and I combine it with black tea and honey and I am actually starting to like it)

Hope that you are better by Friday! Wow new twins!

@RunnersHi wrote:Two weeks into the challenge for me! I spent about half of it on the road for a work conference. I had lots of meals in restaurants, but just did my best to pick the healthiest thing on the menu each time--even found a free app to help me do it (Restaurant Nutrition). Since the conference was in Long Beach, CA, I also spent evenings walking on the beach, which really boosted my step count. Now, glad to be back home in a regular routine.

Thanks for the tip! I am on the road next week for work (and again at the end of the month) and I was worried about all the restaurant food. Gonna check out that app!

The away on business/restaurant meals/'lunch will be provided' stuff used to be a big 'uh-oh', but now I actually enjoy it, mainly doing what you guys are mentioning.
In addition to the app, many restaurants have online menus, sometimes w a nutrition facts page which can be useful, fun, and SHOCKING. I choose what I'm having before I get there. If alcohol is pushed on me, I decline with a lie if I have to, but people don't push booze like they used to. Buffet lay-outs: I simply avoid the garbage...if there's nothing but garbage I ignore it and save my appetite for dinner.
What was once a fear is now a fun challenge 🙂 Rob K

My only relapse since I started Fed 1st and the bad part is I knew it! Late business meetings with breakfast-lunch-and dinner on the road and some late night drinks mixed in. I usually weigh every morning and for the first time I talked myself out of it until yesterday morning. It is like I knew I was being bad - but still did it anyhow. I am disappointed with myself but keep saying...it is not what i have done but what I am going to do about it! 6 weeks to go before boat season!

awesome @FJBenjamin, keep your focus on your goal and you will get there !
And you are right @ffcarpy, whats done is done, its history and a waste of energy, focus on your goals, you can and will get there.
May God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change: The courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is promised to no-one, that's why they call today the 'present', because it is the only time you can change anything, so focus on what you want and what you can do and the rest will follow.
Keep up the good work people. Every journey begins with one step at a time. Love yourself, you are worth it !

So great to see so much success on here! And congrats to those also who have slipped, but are getting back in the game! What a great post on that @RubyH! Can't add anything to what you already said. 🙂
My checkin for the week with another very small loss, but I'll take it. I was at a baby shower yesterday and had some cake. I tried to plan around it and eat light.

I hope the weight stays off. I hate losing weight when you're sick because you lose too fast and it tends to come back twice as much. Crossing fingers.

Hello, Everyone! Just 1 pound down this week. Here is my report for week 2:
USW- Ultimate Starting Weight - 183.5 (1/7/16)
CSW- Current Starting Weight - 159.5 (3/26/16)
PW- Previous Weight - 158 (4/4/16)
CW- Current Weight - 157(4/10/16).
GW- Goal Weight - 149.5 (by 5/12/16). After this, I will be traveling overseas, and hope to maintain my new weight; then, I'll get back into the weight loss, until I reach my perfect weight.
UGW- Ultimate Goal Weight: 135-145 lbs, not sure (I will assess that when I reach 145 lbs).
I did not reach my 10K steps every day this week, as I would have liked to do, but I am doing much better than in my previous two challenges, when all I did was walk for 30 min. about three times a week. Yet, inspite of that, my weight loss per week was greater then than it is now.
Best wishes to you all.

Good Job, @FJBenjamin! You lost 0.5 Kg this week! That's about how much I lost, too. 1Kg=2.2 pounds.
Keep it up, friend!

@HelenKr, Congrats on another 1.2 lbs down! I only lost about a pound this week, too. Looks like the closer we get to our ultimate goal, the slower the weight loss is. But, as you said, I'm happy to take any weight loss, as long as I am moving in the right direction.
In addition to the 26 lbs that I lost since January 7, I celebrate the fact that my blood-sugar is within the normal range now (when I started this weight loss, I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes). My blood-sugar this past week was 85-87. I am so happy about that!!!

Well this week has been my 11th week and the hardest.
I always dread the school holidays, as I like the routine, but with a job change and my kids off school it was bound to go wrong.
I expect to have no change next week, as my schedule went out of the window this week.
Hoping that I get back on track, plus a big effort next week as need to get my motivation back.
Too many distractions is never a good thing, but I should know myself better, but at least no alcohol was involved so any depression will be short lived.
I just hope that "character building" does not have weight.
