Easter to Memorial Day Challenge 2016

Welcome to the next challenge!!!

 

 

Our challenge starts Easter March 27th through Memorial Day May 30th. (USA holiday)

 

 

To be part of the challenge you start by posting your initial weight stats and what you would like to achieve by the end of the challenge. You can then check in as often as you'd like with a weight update, to share a story from your week or start a conversation about a topic you'd like some advice on.

 

Welcome to all our new members, old timers, and anyone who is just following our challenge! Let's continue to work hard, meet our goals, and most important, give each other the encouragement and positive thoughts to keep all our spirits up!

A little rundown of terminology for anyone who is new: 

 

USW- Ultimate Starting Weight

CSW- Current Starting Weight

GW- Goal Weight

UGW- Ultimate Goal Weight

PW- Previous Weight

CW- Current Weight

MFP- My Fitness Pal

Joined the last challenge as i needed the push and motivation. It was my first. I enjoyed it a lot and am going to continue with my goals with this challenge. this challenge is a few weeks longers so my goal is a bit bigger.

Hello Everyone! I saw this challenge and I could really use something to focus on to achieve my goals. My goal is to lose what I gained back and then to break the plateau I have been experiencing for 8 months. This constant plateau is what caused me to gain since I hit a slump over the past few weeks. If I could lose that and then some I would be very happy! Good luck to everyone!

Easter Day CSW- 167.8 lbs

Memorial Day GW- 160 lbs

 

UGW - 145 lbs (though If I could get to the 130s I would be a happy camper)

@OCDOC Looks like we both want to lose 12lbs. I think we got this. we have ample time.

@Bogdel i like that you are starting the challenge with intention and a plan. 

 

I have similiar goals of walking/running more. Mine isnt so much time as it is distance. I would like to get outside with my dogs 5x/week. They're happier and so am I. the weather out here in the midwest isnt very helpful though. I do feelmy endurance going up as I am able to run longer. My poor older dog (6yrs) has a hard time keeping up after mile 1. 

 

Have you heard of Virtual Strides? Im thinking of participating. Heres a video explaining what it is: https://youtu.be/q3AWVkCinZ8  From their FAQ: "Simply register for one of our virtual runs, complete the distance any time and anywhere you desire (even on a treadmill!), and upload your finish time to our website. We will mail you a finisher’s medal after you upload your results or at the end of the race period, whichever comes first."

Needing some help to start losing weight before our big trip trip Scotland in July.  This is the challenge I need to get help getting me motivated.

@Brujita - I am trying to get some steps in walking my dogs too!  I have a labradoodle and a shih tzu.  The labradoodle is 9 years old and he still pulls me down the street.  It can be helpful for hills.  😉   The shih tzu keeps up too, but I'm not fast.  Would like to get to jogging at some point.  🙂
