Welcome to the next challenge!!!

Our challenge starts Easter March 27th through Memorial Day May 30th. (USA holiday)

Welcome to all our new members, old timers, and anyone who is just following our challenge! Let's continue to work hard, meet our goals, and most important, give each other the encouragement and positive thoughts to keep all our spirits up!

@MegCH I have changed some things like chocolate bars and some sweets. For some reason I just couldn't give up ice cream so I bought the smaller ones on a stick. But my doctor told me to "Never go on a diet you can't live with the rest of your life".

Best Answer

@DJC_63 I'm no expert but unless you have health issues I don't think there is any excercise that is bad for you. But if you're not sure, there should be an instructor there to help you if you're aiming for a specific area.

I've been sick since Sunday. I lost a lot of liquid. It's amazing how much you can lose by coughing your head off. I've also barely eaten. Today I weighed myself as I do every morning and I'm down 4 lbs. Now I'm afraid that it will all come back again once the cold is gone. Any suggestions?

@awood08  omg.  We are in the same boat.  I'm so tired the yo-yo'ing!  It's been like this for my entire weight loss process.  I go up and down and up and down.  Finally lose 5 pounds and then there I go again with the up and down.  It's so furstrating!  And now that I'm at the final 10 pounds, it feels downright impossible!  Let us know how the 15 day challenge goes!  I think that's my main issue is that I don't want to buckle down and eat well every day.  I like to enjoy my sweets and bread and what not.  I think if I ate right for a month, I'd see some progress.

@DJC_63  I LOVE THAT COMMERCIAL! lol.  I think Cookie Monster is my spirit animal.  I also went out and bought a ton of cookies 😞

@Jocy, try sticking to lite broths till you feel well then monitor the calorie intake once you start eating normally again.  no need to not make that loss permanent. 🙂

Good Job, @FJBenjamin! Keep it up!

One thing I find interesting is when people say they've lost 1,2, 3, 5, 10, 15, 30, 50, etc. lbs but sometimes it feels like just a number. Try this.

1)Take your highest weight that you have been at in the past 6 months and subtract your current weight.

2)Lets say your current weight loss is (220-200) or 20 lbs, If you have access to dumbells, grab two 10lb dumbells (or pack a backpack until you weigh 220lb again on the scale) and walk around for a little while. Go up a few stairs(safely if you have bad joints) and feel how much stress it causes.

3)It just might give you some added motivation to what it might feel like esp if you lost another 20lb or even more rather then just seeing the number 20 on a computer screen or piece of paper.

Best of luck to you all, feel free to add me if you wish

Count me in!  I did pretty good on the last challenge even if I did "fall off the wagon" Easter weekend and last week!  I met my goal of 185 for the last challenge (then blew it with the grandbabies at my place from Good Friday until this past Sunday!).  I did only gain 3 pounds tho... so not as bad as it could have been with all that chocolate around!  Here is where I'm at:

USW:  208 (last year before any attempt to lose)

CSW: 188 (this challenge)

GW:  180 (hope to hit that this challenge)

UGW:  160 (hopefully by Christmas!)

We will see where I go from there...  at 5'6" and more muscle than I look like I have, 160 will be a good size...  We will see if I am satisfied at that weight or if I will want to go smaller.

Good luck to everyone!

Ruth

Weigh-in day!

USW: 163 lbs (March 2015)

CSW(3-28-16): 141 lbs

CGW: 136 lbs

UGW: 125 lbs

3/30/16: 140 lbs

4/6/16: 139.6 lbs

Not much of a loss, but a loss nonetheless.  Last night I scarfed down like 10 Milano cookies.  ughhhhh.  **ahem** these urges.  The weather has been horrible again and I haven't been able to go out for my walks.  I mean one day it is snowing and the next it is 65 degrees and the next it is 35 degrees.  Oh, Chicago.  Today it's raining all day.  Guess I will be living room walking!  I have back-to-back cycling classes tonight.  Can't wait.

I'm not on any medications, no health issues. But since starting that 15 day challenge on Monday I'm already back down to 167 from 170. So it's gotta be something other than my diet because that hasn't changed. With this new challenge you have burst workouts where you push hard for 2-3 minutes of different activities then rest for 1 minute and do it again, almost like high intensity interval training. I also have pushed my weights higher than usual.

I can now:
leg press 110 pounds (use to be 75)

bicep curl 55 pounds (use to be 30)

tricep ext 50 pounds (use to be 35)

free weights on each hand are 15 (used to be 10)

So far this challenge is definitely doing what it's supposed to do. It's completely free, the next one I imagine will start in 15 days. Here's the link! 🙂
