I am relatively new to this fitbit thing. I have had mine for a little over a month and have significantly increased my activity and decreased my food intake. I have about 70lbs to loose and I am down 9. I have set my weight loss goals to a 750 calorie deficit, anymore and I feel deprived. I realize that 1.5 lbs a week will seem spectacularly slow but I believe that if I try to restrict my intake too much I will simply give up and go back to my old ways. I don't want to do that, losing 1.5 lbs a week is much better than the alternative!
That being said, I do not think the movement on the scale will keep me motivated on a daily or weekly basis. I would like to find ways to enjoy myself on the way down.
How have you been able to enjoy the way down rather than simply focus on the end goal? I would love to hear your stories because so many resonate well with mine.

Hi and welcome! For me, new clothes and frozen yogurt. Every ten pounds is about a size. Every ten pounds I would buy one or two things in my new size and give one or two things away in my old size. I drastically reduced my calorie intake when I was losing weight (not for everyone, not recommending or pushing) because this is the way I work. All or nothing. So once per week, I would go to a self serve yogurt place and treat myself to 6 ounces of yumminess. Once I was at a comfortable weight to start exercising, I increased the in because I increased the out. Yep- more yogurt and popcorn! It's been almost two years and I feel awesome and look pretty darn good. I maintain my loss (63 pounds) and added muscle to help look toned and lean. I wish you much luck in your journey and keep us updated on your progress!

@Gabie Dont look at the big picture. Set small goals. I do mine for every 10# and then I trat my self to a New Exercise DVD or a Pedi.
Make it something you like. What ever motivates you!

Set small DAILY goals. Hit your steps and stairs and miles. Decide before bed to round up to the next 1,000 steps. Scales are a tool and maybe the worst as you will find times where losing weight does not happen but you feel better and your clothes feel better.
The 750 calorie defcit may or may not be a goods thing. Depends on the person and time and and and..... BUT the extra activity helps allow you to still eat and not feel deprived. If you feel deprived then the weight will come back so focus on lifestyle changes.
