I am a 16 year old 5'7 Male who currently weighs 150. I want to lose 1-2 pounds per week and have been working out for a couple weeks now... but I've seen a lot of things about hitting stone walls and scared I wont be able to drop 20 pounds in about 3 months. I thought this was reasonable but now I'm not sure.
I have been taking in around 1400-1600 calories per day while expending 2500-2900. Should I be eating more?

The question is: why would you want to drop 20 pounds from your current weight? At 16, you are probably still growing, and one does not grow out of nothing: you need to provide enough building material for this growth to happen. Your current weight is perfectly fine for your height. Therefore I would focus on eating a balanced, high-quality diet and living an active lifestyle. Take advantage of nature’s own doping substance (testosterone) while it’s plentiful and build muscle. For the process to be optimal, you again need more food, not less.

are you trying to make weight for a sport? if that's the case, work with your coaches to set up a plan for you where you are eating good for you meals and focusing on activity that will help build up muscle. My son is 16 5'7 and 132 pounds down from 145. He wrestles and wants to be in a specific weight group. He eats high nutrition food and works out 6 days a week at the gym. He stays connected with his coach to ensure he stays on track. If you are trying to lose weight just because... revisit the number. That may be too low for your frame.
