Fitbit adding calories burned back to calories left to eat

Hi everyone. I am new to this, but have a serious question. When I add my exercise into Fitbit, it adds those calories back to calories to be eaten. I personally do not want that to happen. Is there a way to make that stop? Overall, I am very pleased with Fitbit.

Hello,

What did you figure out because I am about to go crazy. I have not lost weight in a month. Do you eat back all exercise calories or just eat back to what your daily caloric intake is. I eat 1200 per day to loose 2 lbs. per week.

I don't eat the exercise calories back. That's what my nutritionist said
would cause to just maintaining. To lose, you burn calories and only eat
what your caloric intake is for the day. My caloric intake is about 2,000
calories, but I burn abou 800-1,000 calories in the gym, but I only eat the
2,000. I hope that helps.

@Billieslp- how much weight do you have to lose?  If you don't have a lot to lose a 2 pound a week loss may not be realistic.  I you have a lot to lose then 1200 calories might be too low.  If you put your information into the following site (including your current and goal weight) it should let you know if eating 1200 calories is realistic for you.

As a rule, you shouldn't consistently eat below your BMR.

Allow me to make this as simple as possible. The calorie calculator in fitbit is not a good one.

Yes you can eat back all your exercise calories only if the following conditions are met.

1. Your daily caloric intake to lose weight is based on your average daily burn without exercise

2. Your daily caloric intake is set to be slightly lower than your daily burn without exercise

3. Your burned calories can be eaten only if they are deducted from the daily burn based on your weight loss calories

4. Then and only then if your calories total no more than your daily burn calories.

So lets do some basic maths——

your daily calories to lose weight are set to 1800 calories, you burn 400 calories, which means you can eat back ONLY 400 calories more for that day which equates to 2200 calories that day only. The fitbit calculator is not good, because if you set it to 500 calories less every day, this means that on your rest days you will need to consume 1300 calories which is devastating to your metabolism... the fitbit calorie app is not good , try Calorie king app. It’s scientifically proven and much better for your body and your sanity.

Can you tell me how you figured out how to make the fit bit app stop add to calorie intake when you burn calories?

My husband fixed it for me. If you set your own calorie goal it will go away, don’t let the system set it up for you. Hope that helps you.
