Fitbit says I should be consuming around 4 to 5000 calories a day?

I'm a 25 year old male, 5'9 at 257 lbs. My fit bit says I burn about 5000 to 6000 calories a day and that I should be consuming 4000 + to match it at a 1000 calorie deficit. This just seems insanely high to me? I want to lose weight as quickly and healthily as possible but I feel like constantly eating is just going to put me back to my starting weight. Am I reading this wrong?

Well for starters I used to drink nothing but sweet tea and cherry coke, and eat nothing but fast food for pretty much every meal. As for the 30 lbs starting weight loss I ate only every other day for an entire month sometimes every two days and ate nothing but egg, avocado, and plain grilled chicken when I did eat. Water and straight unsweetened green tea for drinks. So although initially the weight seemed to fall off it ultimately slowed down and I began to worry about the health issues that may arise. I am currently working out 5 times a week and am eating a diet of mostly veggies and chicken/eggs. The weight has stopped coming off but I feel better every day so I assume I'm building muscle in place of fat. Only time will tell!
