Food tracker

Hey Guys,

Im looking into recording what I eat and how many calories itis approximately. I have issues remembering to put in an app so I'm going to get a paper journal. How could I improve this. And does anyone have any good sources for calorie counts for home made food.

Hi @Fisheattoes,

I would definitely check out MyFitnessPal.com. Their food database is huge and calorie counts are accurate also. Hope this helps.

For meals I prepare, I total up all the calories in the preparation, then portion out the meal by weight.  Divide the total calories by the portion to get calories for each meal.  I tend to cook chicken and other meats and store in the freezer.  remember that most meat calorie counts are for the raw, uncooked meat and will lose 25-30% of the weight (but not the calories!) after cooking.  Some of the databases have both cooked and raw calorie counts.....
