Halloween to Thanksgiving Challenge 2015

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Halloween to Thanksgiving Challenge!!!

This challenge will begin on Halloween October 31st and finish on Thanksgiving November 26th. This is a little less than 4 weeks so try and be realistic with your weight loss goals so you don't feel discouraged if you don't hit your mark.

All you need to join this challenge is to post your stats regarding your weight, and check in weekly or as often as you'd like. We are a great support group and enjoy keeping up with each other and being there for our ups and downs.

HAVE FUN!! Most importantly enjoy yourself and your journey! 🙂

USW- 235 June 16th

CSW- 190 October 28th

GW- 185 November 26th

UGW- 175 January 1st

I"m setting my goal lower this time, I'm a bridesmaid in a wedding and I have had to get my dress altered twice already due to my weight loss. The wedding is November 14th so I'm trying to not alter my body as much as possible until after that date so I won't have to get another dress alteration!

Count me in! Thanks AWood for starting this challenge. Smiley Happy

Ok.  I'm back in.  Didn't reach my goal last time, but with some special events going on, I think the Labor Day to Halloween Challenge and all the great support kept me from INCREASING my weight during that time period.  I know we are moving into the holidays, with all the stress and temptation they bring, so I'm hoping this connection to community will help me keep my eyes on the prize:  a healthy body to support my happy life!

Good luck to us all!

Jacqueline

10/31/15  Just adjusted my first weigh-in figures.  I jumped the gun when I entered them two days ago, and I am actually down a pound and one-half today.  I want the starting weight to be accurate.

I would like to join the challenge, I have never done this before so bear with me.

PW- 220 July 2015

CW- 205 Oct 28th

GW- 195 Thanksgiving

UGW - 150 July 2016

I have just began walking daily and adjusting my portion sizes, as well as eating lunches that I pack vs picking up fast food.  Also cutting sugar/splenda out of my coffee and just using my creamer.  These small changes have gotten me started without being something that I can't stick to long term.  That has always been my problem in the past, is unsustainable changes.

I'm hoping this challenge I'll do better than the last one! I wasn't even close to my goal, but I didn't gain weight, so it was a still a positive experience. I have been walking/running more, so now I just need to work on my food intake.

Welcome! I am realizing that NOT gaining is also something to be happy about. Means you have found a certain balance. Bye bye to the next  5lbs 🙂

@Basilia here are the things I have done that I think help alot with staying on track!  🙂

1. MOST IMPORTANT- BE POSITIVE, no matter if you gain a little after working so hard, DO NOT GIVE UP. There has been many weeks I've seen a 2-3 pound increase for some reason, but I always end up loosing it after. Push yourself to do better but don't critcize and put yourself down over little bumps in the road.

2. Drink only water, only treat yourself to a diet coke (if you must) once a week since they are packed with chemicals and sodium.

3. Only have a cheat MEAL once a MONTH, and by cheat meal I mean something still within reason. If we go out to eat I get a calzone but only eat half. I won't gorge myself for that one meal because it defeats the purpose in my opinion.

4. Work out at least 3 times a week, I go even if I have a rough day at work, if I get off work late, my kids have activities, whatever comes up I make sure to stick to my 3-4 times per week at the gym. If I have to go late in the evening after my kids go to bed or early in the am before work, I do it because it's rewarding.

These won't work for everyone but it definitely helped me!!
