@awood08 You should really be so proud of yourself! Life happens (the wedding), but you have kicked some serious backside, from the starting date you list until right now! You started a month after I did (this, my most recent effort) and about fifteen pounds higher, and you are now between ten and fifteen pounds LIGHTER than I am--with one month less to do it!
I actually feel good about where I am because I haven't managed to keep going this long before and I feel like I really am making a lifestyle change that will get me there if I just don't give up. I will never go back. So even though I'm moving slowly, your success just pumps me up and makes me think it's do-able. Just look in that mirror and say, "AWOOD08, YOU ARE AMAZING"! And don't forget that alcohol often leads to some depression (or at least it does that to me), even after I'm back in the groove. That may be part of your funk right now. Just pamper yourself with clean food and good exercise and lots of slack.
You are SO CLOSE to your (first?) finish line, and as you have said to me before, I am absolutely confident that YOU HAVE GOT THIS!

Thank you & yes, I actually have my old high school photo that's my motivation. My stomach is my main issue, no excuses but after having two kids it's not close to even resembling the nice firm tummy I had. I think that's what is putting me a little down in the dumps.

You are the best my friend! I always feel better after your encouragement! You say all the time how motivating I am but honestly, you are just the same. And you have come so far as well, we all are making these positive life changes and it's going to be so rewarding.
I never really drank my whole life until recently, idk what clicked but I started enjoying having a drink or two. I wish I would have never picked it up, kinda turning into a bad habit lol

USW- Ultimate Starting Weight - 112.8 kg - 1 September 2015
CSW- Current Starting Weight - 104.5 kg - 31October 2015
GW- Goal Weight - 100 kg (by Christmas - but Thanksgiving would be even better 🙂 )
UGW- Ultimate Goal Weight - aiming for 80 kg at the moment
Tracking diet using My Fitness Pal in conjunction with a Charge HR. Working so far 🙂 Will see if I can keep it up...
Edit: 1 week in - 103.4kg 8 November - 1.1kg down so far 🙂 (but going out for dinner tonight, so next week might not be as good)...
Edit: 2 weeks in - 103..0kg - 14 November - another 0.4kg down, 1.5kg total so far 🙂 A little bit less than I wanted this week. However considering there were two birthdays, going out to dinner & a sore foot, it was a good week 🙂
Edit: 3 weeks in - 102.8 kg - 21 November - another 0.2kg down. 1.7kg total so far 🙂 Not as much as I would like - but still in the right direction - and the lowest it has been for 10 years. 🙂 Just realised - 10kg from my starting weight now 🙂

Hi Shaniqua - just type them into the text box. (There isn't a script to drag them off your fitbit account).

I am a little more than two months into my "get–fit–eat–healthy" weight loss journey. And, this week I hit a major milestone ... my BMI went from "obese" to "overweight." You have no idea how much this meant to me. Two months ago when I first discovered that my weight was at a level where I was "obese" I had been devastated. In fact, being "obese" was a huge motivator in doing something about it.
So, that being said, here is my check-in for the week:
USW: 191.7 (9/15)
CSW: 174.8 (10/31)
PW: 170.4 (11/14)
CW: 167.5 (11/21)
GW: 165 (11/26)
UGW: 105 (5/26)
Now, my next goal is to move from "overweight" to "normal." If I keep this up (and I am confident that I can), it should take me about three months to reach my next goal.
Onwards and upwards ...

Hi Everybody,
Congrats to everyone taking this challenge. Here are my stats for the week:
USW - 184
CSW - 175.6
CW - 174.6
GW - 174
UGW - 164 (subject to downward revision)
Went out for dinner tonight. Had meatballs and broccoli. Passed up on wine for two glasses of seltzer and passed up on the foccacia too. Current daily step goal is 13,000 steps a day -- and I'm doing it! I keep my fitbit goal set to 10,000 and I motivate myself to do those last 3,000 steps -- almost always going over. I feel great, I look so much better and I have so much energy!!! I'm just thrilled.
Usually I would go unconscious around Thanksgiving -- now I'm planning to make reasonable choices, enjoy the day and talk my cousin into a walk to the beach. If I go up a bit, I have the rest of the long weekend to go back down. I will be judicious about taking leftovers home (turkey, green beans, a little gravy but not much, no desserts). In other words, I will enjoy Thanksgiving Day -- not Thanksgiving week.
Will check in again Thanksgiving morning -- never thought I would plan to get on a scale the morning of Thanksgiving. Good luck to everyone, I look forward everyday to reading our posts here. They keep me going.

Checking in because I'm very happy today...
Actually got a little lower than my goal, but my weight fluctuates, so hopefully it will stay there until Thanksgiving. Congrats to all the successes and thanks so much to everyone for the support! If you're struggling, hang in there, it will all be worth it in the end. I'm really hoping this support group can help me stick with this, I've given up on so many diets before. For me, it's been about 3 months of working toward healthier fitness and eating habits. I am thrilled to be down almost 14 pounds!
USW - 176

166.4 on 11/10

Hey Guys,
Did not feel like leaving the house to walk this afternoon. So I decided to do an hour on my elliptical. I haven't done that in several years. Just got off.
I don't think my fitbit charge hr recorded all my steps but honestly, I don't care. I just feel so mentally and physically good. Sitting in a comfy chair with my feet up on my couch as I write this. I had forgotten how good it feels to relax after seriously moving.
Going out for dinner with friends tonight. I'm committing to seltzer instead of wine, no bread and not ordering dessert. If my friends suggest sharing a dessert I commit to taking no more than two bites and really enjoying each one.
Hope everyone has a great night -- sweet dreams and sleep efficiency well above 95%.

I have found this group very motivating and helpful. I do miss some of the people who seem to have disappeared, like dancefoxtrot and bobbinyc. I hope they are both doing well and will return.

Dancefoxtrot posted a few days ago, she's healing from a ankle injury but she's still here. Bobbinyc has been posting too just been in different forums.
@Bobbinyc you still out there? Haven't heard from you in a while!

Hi awood,
I'm dancing again. I just took 2 days off to ice and elevate the ankle. Amazing how it healed quickly. I did a Foxtrot performance on Thurs. and on this coming Tues. will dance a Viennesse Waltz. I'm not making good progress downward yet in the return to 135 again but it is only a few pounds to lose again.
I hope that you talk nicely to yourself about your tummy. It is a process of change and it takes courage to face the body changes as the years pass. Getting to a healthy weight is a great goal. You've got this.
Take care,
Barbara G

Stats for this week for me are:
USW- 157 (?? aroung that)
Two weeks ago: 151
Last week: 147
Today: 146.8
GW- <145
UGW- 120
So I haven't lost that much from last week but it's A-OK because I was in Ireland all weekend and was eating a lot and drinking Guinness. So I'm surprised that I came out of the week having lost a little instead of gaining any! Hopefully I can hit the 145 range this week 🙂
Does anyone want to do a Thanksgiving --> Christmas challenge? 😉

Hey Katrice,
I know what you mean about using the lower step count to push yourself harder. And thanks for the encouragement. I'm with you on loving my Fitbit to death. Walking to the restaurant and home last night put me over 10,000 steps -- which is short of my personal 13,000 daily step goal but enough to close the green circle.
Last night at dinner, I stuck to my plan. I explained to my friends that with Thanksgiving coming up I would forego wine and dessert. The only downside was we waited so long for a table that I ended up eating late and it whacked my digestion -- heartburn city -- and that whacked my sleep. On a brighter note when the dessert came I took only one blissful half teaspoon of ice cream and put the spoon down.
A good night, all in all but I have to watch eating late with my tricky digestion these days.
