Hello everyone! Welcome to the Halloween to Thanksgiving Challenge!!!
This challenge will begin on Halloween October 31st and finish on Thanksgiving November 26th. This is a little less than 4 weeks so try and be realistic with your weight loss goals so you don't feel discouraged if you don't hit your mark.
All you need to join this challenge is to post your stats regarding your weight, and check in weekly or as often as you'd like. We are a great support group and enjoy keeping up with each other and being there for our ups and downs.
HAVE FUN!! Most importantly enjoy yourself and your journey! 🙂
A little rundown of terminology for anyone who is new.

@awood08 you look fab! Amazing work!
Hello all,
Sounds like progress has been made for many in many different ways this challenge so a big congrats all round!
I hit my goal of 140lbs this morning so I am super happy, especially as the nights have gotten much darker & colder in the UK so going for a run is a bit more challenging when it comes to motivation... part of me would much rather stay in in the warm but as a motivator I signed up for a 10k run in February so that should (hopefully) keep me moving lol!
So from the British side of the pond I want to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving & say thanks for all the positivity this thread provides!
Shall we start the next one soon? Say Thanksgiving to New Years Eve or Christmas? What do we all think?

Way to go, you have done incredible! You must be so proud 🙂
I'm thinking New Years gives us a little more time? Any suggestions guys?

Congrats @saraj91! Oh, I would like to get down to 140...hopefully, by the summer. I think a challenge through New Years would be great.
p.s. Congrats to all the runners! I am getting 70,000 steps a week in, but haven't tried running. I had downloaded a couch to 5k app a while ago, but it didn't go well. I really would like to be able to run a 5k in the next year.

Thank you so much @awood08 & @HelenKr
Helen, the couch to 5k apps are great, perhaps try a different one or maybe one of the exercise apps that has a game element involved? I've read of some that have like a 'run from zombies' theme or like a 'treasure hunt' theme, I think they use the GPS on your phone to track where you've ran & you unlock stuff as you go. I am yet to try one but they sound fun. Perhaps not the Zombie one for me though... the thought of running in the evening with the groans of Zombies ringing round my ears doens't sound that appealing lol!
At the moment I run to music but have found running/walking to podcasts & audiobooks to be quite distracting (in a good way), I get lost in the conversation or story then before I know it it's been half an hour lol!
@awood08 I think New Years eve sounds good, like you say, gives us a good amount of time then.
Would you like me to set it up or are would you like to?

@awood08 I really think New Year's sounds great. And thanks, again, for starting THIS challenge!
I loved your pictures and really appreciate your sharing. You looked lovely in BOTH the before and afters, but I think you looked more confident and healthy in the afters. You should be VERY proud of yourself!
Happy Thanksgiving! See you on the other side (the next challenge), I hope!

@viny2242 I have been thinking about you and your wife. Hope all is well. I know the recovery will be a true challenge, but you sound like a fighter and I'll bet she is, too. I wish you both a happy holiday and for her, a speedy recovery!

I have enjoyed this group SO much. Thanks to everyone for help and encouragement. I feel that I'm really getting to know some folks here. I sure hope you have a wonderful trip @Farisdayoff ! And @dianenyc you've been an inspiration and motivator. @BelindaW has offered kind assistance to folks who need help. It's been a pleasure to watch nice people hanging together.
Finally, I have to say I didn't do as well as I would wish on this go-around, but I AM still below the 200 mark (just barely, but holding!), which I achieved during this timeframe, and the challenge helped keep me from slipping into a "giving-up" mode when I wanted to quite (before the breakthrough). I've increased my steps by a couple K a day, which is helping me not only with weight issues but also leading to greater energy--HOORAY!
To everyone on this Challenge, I say thanks and I wish you a great holiday and success in your future challenges! Whatever they may be. 🐵

Checking in to close out this challenge. I haven't lost any weight since last check in, but have beat my goal by .8 pound, so I'm pleased! Thanks so much to who have participated and supported through this challenge! This has been a great help to me, so I'll be join the challenge to New Years. Good Luck to all of us who are continuing in the struggle to lose weight!
Checking in because I'm very happy today...
Actually got a little lower than my goal, but my weight fluctuates, so hopefully it will stay there until Thanksgiving. Congrats to all the successes and thanks so much to everyone for the support! If you're struggling, hang in there, it will all be worth it in the end. I'm really hoping this support group can help me stick with this, I've given up on so many diets before. For me, it's been about 3 months of working toward healthier fitness and eating habits. I am thrilled to be down almost 14 pounds!

Quick check in on my way out the door. Weighed in at 174.2 this morning -- .2 above my goal weight of 174. Will use the 2 lb. overage as a reminder to indulge but not overindulge today. Thanks to you, awood08, for taking the lead on this challenge. Your before and after pix are an inspiration.
Much love and Happy Thanksgiving to all -- see you in the next challenge.
