Halloween to Thanksgiving (U.S.) Challenge 2016

ANSWERED

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Halloween to Thanksgiving Challenge!!!

This challenge will begin on Halloween October 31st and finish on Thanksgiving (U.S.) November 24th. This is a little less than 4 weeks!  It helps us be realistic about weight loss goals and practice good habits before the next set of  holidays.

All you need to join this challenge is to post your stats regarding your weight, and check in weekly or as often as you'd like. We are a great support group and enjoy keeping up with each other and being there for our ups and downs.  Generally we have found that the more we check in and offer support and ideas to others, the more we get for ourselves.

We list our weight, as well as any other goals we might have related to being healthy (such as increase water, more active minutes, etc).  Developing good health habits is primary.

A little rundown of terminology for anyone who is new.

USW- Ultimate Starting Weight

CSW- Current Starting Weight (for this challenge)

GW- Goal Weight   (for Nov. 24)

UGW- Ultimate Goal Weight   (what your healthy target weight is)

PW- Previous Weight

CW- Current Weight

MFP- My Fitness Pal

List as much info as you like.  Some people include age, gender, height....whatever seems relevant to you.

We keep it as serious or light as we feel, but we always keep it focused on being as healthy as possible, while we support each other kindly.  We can do this together!!

Hi all the wonderful challengers and Happy Thanksgiving Day.

I started a new Challenge called Thanksgiving to Christmas 2016 so come on over and let's continue our journey together.

I slid backwards this challenge somehow and that is not a happy thing to admit. It truly was not from candies, empty carbs or junk food.  It think it is from grabbing a handful of nuts to many times a day, usually raw almonds or walnuts.

The doctors say it is good when you are older to carry 10 extra lbs. l I have 14 extra so off to the next challenge.

SW 147.5

FW 149.3    + 1.8 lbs heavier (cringe)

GW 145

BMI 23.4

Apologies for not having responded to everyone recently.

Goal for Thanksgiving - not metSmiley Frustrated  My weight still has not budged!  Even with a new scale.  I think I am making medical history!!

I did start posting on the next challenge started by @dancefoxtrot.

I do want to wish everyone a day filled with feelings of gratitude.  No matter what, we have much to be thankful for.

See you all in the next challenge.

USW: 305

SW: 213

CW: 205.2

GW: 205

I'll call this a victory. Goal!! Unofficially lost 100lb since 305 was the heaviest I saw myself on the scale. 292 was when I actually weighed myself weeks after I started my journey.

@Bobbinyc If you're making medical history so am I. I know how frustrating it can be, though. We'll get our weight to budge at some point! Of course I've managed to go up, but at least I know why.  And I'm going back down now, so that makes me happy.

Here's my official last weigh-in:

As of 11/24:
USW - 207.5 (1/14/15)
CSW - 189.4 (10/31)
CW: 190.3
GW - 186.00  😞
UGW - 160.00

On to the next one! I hope all of you U.S. people had a nice Thanksgiving.

USW = 215

SW =211.8 (Labor day 2016)

LW = 215.2 (Last weigh-in weight)

CW = 215.0

GW = 210.0

UGW = 140

I feel like I'm in the Sound of Music...Let's start at the very beginning, a very good place to start.

Did not make my goal, gained back to where I started with Fitbit two (almost three) years ago.

But again, I am not giving up and know I will find that will power, drive, determination and fit it all into my current lifestyle. See you in the next challenge!

CW: 269.8 (-1.0)
GW: 265.6 (Thanksgiving)
LT: 2.15 lbs/week for 42 weeks

So, this week changed how I was approaching things.  I took a generally set food plan and decided to drop the calorie counting.  Don't get me wrong, I'm still mentally keeping track when I have to.  If I deviate from what I've planned I'm making a point to eat more or less depending on my calories burned.

CSW: 360.0 (Feb 2016)
PW: 269.8 (11/20/16)
CW: 267.4 (-2.4)
GW: 265.6 (Thanksgiving)
LT: 2.15 lbs/week for 43 weeks

So I didn't meet the Thanksgiving goal, but I'm not sure that I ever expected to as I started with a maintenance week.  I'm okay with that, since in the long run I'm just looking for continuing weight loss month over month.  Week over week is good too, but as long as I'm lighter next month at this time I consider this a good thing.
