Has anyone on here had weight loss surgery?

I have recently undergone gastric bypass surgery.  I am four months out.  I was wondering if anyone else on here has had any type of weight loss surgery.

I did. I had Lap-Band surgery in January and have lost about 50lbs since. I could have lost more but I have fallen off the wagon...getting back on it now!! 🙂

That is great! Do you find your fitbit helpful?

It is helpful when I am focused and committed. Unfortunately that comes and goes. Need to figure out a way to get it going and keep it that way!!

Hi Krystal,

I had a gastric bypass (roux-en-y) on 10/23/2013 and I'm down about 70 pounds since my pre-op doctor's appointment on 10/8/2013. Still have quite a bit of weight to lose to reach my target by next November.

Hi Everyone

I had the lap band on October 14th of this year.  I got my fitbit at the time of my surgery but unfortunately lost it but got another one.  Fitbit Force!  I love it and am addicted.

I have lost 48.4 pounds since surgery!  Cant wait to hit the 50 mark, then keep counting down.

Would love to be able to share this with other weight loss surgery friends!

I meant to say that Walking For Life is on the forums here.  He is down from 300 to 180 pounds.  This guy walks A LOT.  I'm trying to catch up to him! 🙂

Wow!  That is amazing!  You should be very proud of yourself.  Keep it up!  If you need help with motivation, do not be afraid to get ahold of me.  What an accomplishment!  I also had the (roux-en-y), on Aug 14th.  I am down 70 now.  How has your eating been?

I'm preop now.  Just awaiting my surgery date.  Trying to lose as much as I can prior to surgery.

Hi Krystal,

I don't eat much right now. Protein shakes, chili and ritz crackers are about all my stomach can handle without throwing it back up. Eating has definately become a chore now when it used to be my favorite thing to do.

I had the gastric sleeve on 11/20/2013. I am down 45 lbs since surgery. I recently purchased the Fitbit Force to help motivate me by tracking my activity level. Total weight loss since I started this journey in May has been 93 lbs. Trying to abide by the phases of my post-op diet and the excerise recomendations of my physician. Next MD appt I get to meet with the excerise physiologist which I am actually looking forward to. As for eating, I have had no problems since surgery with nausea or vomiting. I just have to remember to follow the plan and continue to get in my protein and H20. Now just to increase my activity level. If anyone has questions feel free to ask.
