Has anyone on here had weight loss surgery?

I have recently undergone gastric bypass surgery.  I am four months out.  I was wondering if anyone else on here has had any type of weight loss surgery.

I have worked with weight loss surgery patients for over 5 years now and my husband  had the gastric bypass one year ago.

I have had a sleeve gastrectomy, June of last year.  Fit bit is new as of christmas.  Still getting the hang of it.

There are lots of ppl who have had surgery here.  How are you doing?

I had my sleeve exactly one week ago and I'm down 20 lbs since starting the pre-op diet.  Feeling great and hoping the weather warms up soon so I can walk outside!

I had a lapband placed about 4 years ago. I started at 350 and am now at 225. I dropped about 60 pounds within the first 6 months I'd say. Then another 40 over the following year.

My lowest was 200 and within the past year I let myself go back up to 250, so within the past three months I have gotten back down to 225.

I am a chronic over eater, and opted to do the lapband as it allows me portion control. Bascially, there is nadda in my head that tells me when I am full or when to stop eating. Thankfully, the lapband does that for me.

I had RNY Gastric Bypass 12/2010 - I started at 350 and have gotten to as low as 182. I had an abdominoplasty with muscle plication in 2012 and a bilateral mastopexy in 2013. My weight usually stays right at about 184 to 189 however recently I've slipped up with my diet and put on some weight (206.0) so I'm attempting to get back to the basics (following my diet and getting active again) so I can get these pounds off before it gets out of control.

I had surgery on Dec 31 2013 and have lost 60 pounds so far.  I connected my Withings scale to my dashboard so you can go see how quickly it has dropped.

I just started working out circut training style/cross fit style and that is going good.

I am never hungry...I eat to survive...not for enjoyment.  It is hard to eat...I have been testing foods recently and it is rarely enjoyable...at least for now those days are over.  Friends of mine that have had the surgery tell me in a few more months I will be able to enjoy food again...just not lots of it...lol.

Let me know if you have any questions...I am happy to help!

I'm 2 months into the 6-month supervised diet. I've already seen the surgeon and I have my psych eval next week.  I'd like to hang with you folks, if you don't mind.  I'm also on MyFitnessPal.  Hope to hear more from you soon.

I had the gastric bypass in June 2006. I lost over 100 lbs. went from 240  down to 120. Just be very careful you don't get a bad case of hypoglycemia like I did. About 2 years ago , I started losing weight for no reason. I got down to 92 lbs before they found out what was wrong. I had to have a reversal of my gastric bypass and now I'm up to 165lbs. I am trying to get the extra weight off. It is very hard  so just be careful. I had mine done @ Fair Oaks ospital in Fairfax, Va.

I posted several messages, one for gastric surgery, one about sane
weight loss goals. I have 12 ppl on my leaderboard, and no, I am not no
1. I was writing to everyone daily but as we have grown, I am down to 2
to 3 notes, taunts or emails a week. Mostly support and
encouragement. I would love it if you joined us. I try to practice
what I preach, so I'm out there almost every day, doing something. I
prefer to be dancing. Lodes of fun, major stress reliever and way
better than a treadmill.

I had a gastric sleeve done in June of last yr. More for health reasons
than for weight reasons. Down only 25 pounds and would like to do 20
more. I didn't have a lot of weight to loose, but I was taking insulin
5X a day and had stage 3 liver disease. Now, much better. No Insulin
and waiting on results from liver studies.

Ready??? Set... GO!!
we're on our way!

Lapband Sept. 2009!  I am down around 115 lbs. (on a good day) 😉  Would love to to hear from others with the same surgery, and see what their experience has been!  By the way, I love my FitBit!  I connected it to My Fitness Pal, and to a couple of other apps.  I find that it really keeps me in check!  I would like to loose about 20 more lbs, and have found these the hardest to loose!

Good luck everyone!

Hi kremerb,
I had gastric sleeve surgery June 2013. So I am 9 mos post. Lost 25
lbs. The surgery was more for health reason rather than weight. Weight
loss is a huge bonus, But I was on insulin 5 X a day and had stage 3
liver disease. (ANd I don't even drink!) Totally unfair. I have a
small following of weight loss enthusiasts that I write to, taunt, and
encourage as they seem to want, respond to, and thank me for the
"push". I still would like to loose another 20 pounds. I am more
active than ever, and eat way less than before, but still need support too.
