Has anyone on here had weight loss surgery?

I have recently undergone gastric bypass surgery.  I am four months out.  I was wondering if anyone else on here has had any type of weight loss surgery.

I am scheduled to have my sugery on Monday..  been fighting my weight for almost 17 years..  So ready to get my life back and do better for me before i start developing any health issues.  Been really lucking in that aspect.  Borderline on a few things but have never been put on meds for them..

I had Gastric Bypass Surgery 11 years ago, I lost 123 lbs and have maintained most of that weight loss, until recently when I gained 20 lbs because of hormoneverything issue, peri-menopause, but I am certainly not letting that win, I plan on doing whateverything I have to To get 20 lbs back off me as I worked too hard over all these years to lose the battle now.

I just had my RNY Gastric Bypass 10/08/14. I've lost 104 lbs and have 46 to go. I'm looking for friends to connect with that have similar circumstances.

I do have physical limitations so just started working out very slowly in a pool and upper body on the Nautilis equipment. I have a woman at the gym showing me how to do things safely.

I had my surgery on 10/8/14 and it has been life altering! I've lost 104 lbs already and have 46 lbs to go so far. I just got my Charge to help. I'd love to be friends to support one another!

LOL Gotta love it I have 46 lbs to go but I just drove cross country by myself with 2 dogs to a big UKC dog show and kicked butt and took names then drove home with 3 dogs to my husband who is LOVING the new me! I stilll have physical limitations but I took my mobility scooter with me to the show and never even used it! It! It' such a great feeling! Yesterday at Toyota when I was getting my oil changed my little show bag fit in the chair next to me instead of on the floor or on the next chair! Woot Woot! Just like you I'm off my Metformin and they just had to lower my thyroid meds too lol... I am getting a CPAP though because I still have mild sleep apnea the doctor doesn't know if it will help or not though...

I'm so glad I found a group that have had Gastric Bypass even if the posts are a couple months old!

Hey there...this is going to be life altering for you! It was hard at first with the bypass but when I got used to having a smaller tummy it got easier. All I can say is when they tell you to get children's silverware and stuff they mean it. It helped me tremendously with smaller portions and eating slower. At first after I was back on solid food I dumped a couple times just because I ate too fast so take it really slow and easy. I can't tell you how much better! feel! Be prepared as well for plateaus because I've had several where I went weeks without losing and wondered if I was doing something wrong...nope.

I had gastric sleeve surgery 1/27/14. I've dropped 155 pounds. My Fitbit has been a big part of the process because I have so much energy that came when I began losing. I've literally walked my butt off. Sent from my iPhone

That's awesome! I wish my hips would let me walk more but so far if I push further my pain goes through the roof.I'll just keep plugging along at the pool attempting to strengthen my body.

I'm here if you have any questions, I'm 11 years out. I was 123 lbs down, presently still maintaining 100 lbs, but working my butt off too get the 23 off that only recently gained because of hormonal changes due to peri-menopause.

That's wonderful, I have maintained my 123 lbs weight loss for 11 yrs, it's the hormonal changes this last year that's been my problem recently, but I won't let it win. I very gained 23 lbs due to peri-menopause with no change in my eating, in fact I'm eating less as I have no sweets cravings any longer, which is a God's sent if I was losing weight. Lol.
