Has anyone on here had weight loss surgery?

I have recently undergone gastric bypass surgery.  I am four months out.  I was wondering if anyone else on here has had any type of weight loss surgery.

I had roux-en-y surgery in 2004 and am down 170 pounds from my highest weight. I had some complications after surgery and spent a total of 30 days in the hospital. I lost 70 pounds before I left the hospital.

Since then, I am doing great, having corrected my blood pressure, borderline diabetes and cholesterol issues. Since the weight loss surgery, I had my gall bladder removed, discovered I had kidney cancer which led to removal of my right kidney, had an incisional hernia repaired and had 8 pounds of excess skin removed.

At the age of 63, I'm in better health, by far, than I was at 33 and would do it all over again. I recently retired from my job as a project manager and have taken a job in retail. I walk between 6-11 miles per shift worked and have lost 20 pounds in 3 months. I use the fitbit to track my activity (of course) and I track my food intake in the app. I'm hoping to lose another 20 pounds to get to my "fighting weight".

I'm in the process of getting the gastric sleeve procedure done. I have so many health problems that are mainly related to my weight, and if this works like everyone says hopefully I'll be able to extend my quality of life, not to mention my life in gereal. I've had 3 spinal surgeries, not to mention dozens of minor ones. I've got high blood preasure, a bad knee, and now I do belive I have hit type II diabetse. I plan on having the surgery next month, so we'll see what happens.

I had RNY on 5/11/07, almost 9 years ago!

I lost right around 100 lbs, and got as low as 135ish.

Since then I had a baby and got severely anemic to the point of needing iron infusions via IV three times a week for a month.  Not fun.  Gained a lot of weight during the iron treatments - apparently that is a thing?

I had to go back on BP meds and then recently had to increase them.  Weighed in around 180.  Trying to get back down to a healthy BMI again - as of today my weight is 177, and I need it to be 175 to be in the merely "overweight" bmi range rather than obese, and I believe I need to get to about 145 to be in the ideal range.

I've been losing, but very slowly.  It's frustrating, but I'm trying to stay positive and just keep plugging away.

Hello,

I just received my Fitbit for Mother's Day..yayyy!!! I had weight loss surgery (Gastric Sleeve) on 4/6/15 and have lost 85 Ibs. I feel and look so much better! I still need to lose much more to get down to my goal weight and it seems like I have plateued. I work 10 hr days so it's impossible to get exrcise in at least 4 days a week. The remainder days I am going to try and get some walks in and decrease mycalorie intake (less carbs, more water, etc). Eventually I would like to join a gym that I feel comfortable working out in. I'd love to be part of a Weight Loss Surgery/Gastric Sleeve Weight Loss group. Please feel free to add me..I'd love some weight loss support!

BTW..hpw do I add a profile pic?

I had the lapband in 2011.  I don't regret it I lost 96 pounds.  However, I think to have slipped it.. but thanks to having different insurance I can't go to the doctor and have them look out it with out needing to take out a loan.. literally.. i hate KAISER insurance its a joke!!!

I had the sleeve done back in February and I've lost 114lbs. I don't regret anything either. The only bad thing was my insurance wouldn't cover it, but the place I went had a cash price for surgery, hospital etc... for right at $10k.

I had awesome insurance before moving to colorado.. Thanks to my husbands job.. I worked for the state. I only paid 135.00 for the whole thing.. Just for an xray is 250.00.. I asked the lady when they called to tell me the price how in the hell can people pay that.. thats ridicilous. thankfully its not giving me any problems i don't have restriction anymore.. what blows my mind is i walk 3-4 miles daily since June and I have gained 12 pounds.. I am like HOW!!! i was a couch potato at my previous job.. now i walk all over the place.. so, i am hoping the fit bit helps me get back on TRACK!!
