Have over 100 pounds to lose and wanting some Fitbit friends

Hi, I have well over 100 pounds to lose and could use some Fitbit friends to share stats with.  I don't post much, but I love watching the two friends that I already have, and how their stats add up against mine.  One friend and I keep taking turns being in the lead and the other I cannot even come close to catching.  I probably only average 6-8,000 steps a day right now.  I am doing Weight Watchers and hoping to lose a large chunk of weight this year.  If you want to be friends, please send me a friend request.  You can click on my profile and send it that way.  Thanks!

I have atleast 120 lbs to loose and could use some friends to share my/their stats with (along with motivation).  Doing about 8500 steps a day (up from 6,000ish when i started 2 months ago), but need motivation to get to 10,000+ per day.

Hi!  I have about100 pounds to lose as well.  I'm got my fitbit about a month ago and have been going to the gym, watching my calories and stopped drinking sodas.  So far I'm down about 8 pounds!  I'm excited, but I know there is a long way to go.  I was on vacation for a couple weeks after getting my fitbit and managed to get in my steps and everything, but now that I'm back at work, I'm finding it much more difficult to get them all in, but I'm determined to figure it out.  I've also just started using the food tracker.  I would be glad to give encouragement to others, as I know I need it.  Good luck to everyone 🙂

Hi all!  I just started using my FitBit on Monday, I have at least 100 lbs to lose.  I would love any support I can get and give to keep motivated. I've been overweight long enough, and I'm ready to make a change!  All friends welcome!   Smiley Happy  Good luck to all of you!

Have found my Fitbit and blew the dust off of it.  I need to lose 100+ pounds. I have struggled with my weight my entire life. Would love to find some friends in the same situation to keep motivated.  I have recently moved to an area with lots of bike trails.  Looking forward to getting my bike ready to get out there.  Also just bought 10 pilates classes on Groupon to get me started.

I'm not new to fitbit , I used have a fitbit one but lost it so I just purchased a fitbit flex two weeks ago and love it so far. I have a 100+ pounds to lose , so far I have been using MFP and Fitbit . I believe both are helping me make a difference in my lifestyle choices. I would like having some friends that are on the same page as me .

If you can dream it, you can do it.

I have 100+ lbs to cut out of my life.. lol I'm not much of a walker due to knee issues. I'm working on getting it stronger so I can walk more than I have been. Lately it's only been 7700 for the week give or take 100 or so.

I'm a stay at home trucker wife and mother (husband and son both drive locally) I keep track of where they're going and make sure they have good foods to eat while they work.

Add me if you like.

so in may i slid off track and haven't used my fitbit at all since june. I decided with back to school and getting the household in a normal routine that I'd get my butt in gear and get back into a healthy forme routine. the first step was making the goal of a start date. I chose today 🙂 and so far I am doing it. now to stick with it. Good thing is i haven't gained anymore weight but i sure haven't lost any either 😞 so heres to a fresh start.

Congrats on your beginning, I need the support as well.  I have a smaller goal of 60 pounds for now.  I have been learning to maintain my loss of 40 pounds and I just can't seem to start losing again.  Good luck

i haven't been on hear since June but I have decided with kids going bac to school and our household getting into routine that it was time to get back onto looking after me. Right now my small goal is to just get under the 200lb mark. It has been 4 years since I've seen that. I have 39lbs to get there but today i am motivated and determined.

It's pretty straightforward...

You count "exactly" the calories you take in.

No fudging or leaving something out...

Then you exercise (not just sit on a sofa and think about exercising).

For example, just go for a walk (weather and temperature permitting) for an hour.  There are plenty of internet sites showing what such and such a speed of walking for XX minutes will mean for calorie burn (some even take into acccount your height and weight and age).

From this exercise, calculate what you burned in calories.

Hopefully, you will burn more calories than you take in.  That deficit will result in loss of weight (fat and muscle and water).

IF you're consistent in your intake and your exercise regimen, you'll almost always be rewarded with pounds lost.  It might not happen over night, but if you change your eating habits, stop in between meal piecing, smaller portions of what you do eat, and eating non-processed foods, you will definitely lower your daily nutritional values.

I've heard you need to burn around 3,000 calories to lose one pound (I think that is 3,000 above whatever you intake).  Well, I've taken in an average of 1,200 calories a day, and wound up burning between 2,700-3,000 calories a day.  I've gone from 300 lbs in Nov 2013 to 170 lbs in Aug 2014 with this campaign I am on.  So, I don't think the 3,000 a day net deficit is accurate.  Perhaps others can add to this thread?

I don't know why some folks complain about not losing weight, but I think it's simple.  Either eat right and less or exercise much, much more.  Doing both in the right combination will lead to satisfactory results.

Just my two cents worth.

I also have over a hundred pounds to lose and I am currently a Weight Watchers member too!  I would love to make friends with you as well as others that can relate to where we are in this journey.  I just got my fitbit today, so I am trying to get used to it but I am getting it charged so I can dive in head first tomorrow. I will go to your page and send you a friend request. ~Theresa

Hello. I'm Jaime. I'm 28 and, if I'm to go by BMI, I have 145 pounds to lose. I'm really shooting for an overall of 120 and then see what things are like there. I want to get healthier for the long term, but there is the added bonus of being more likely to start a family without medical help if I lose weight. (I've been diagnosed with PCOS for about 10 years now.)

I started with FitBit about a month ago and found that I lost a bit of weight just by being aware of my steps. I've since started on a calorie-controlled diet and started the 'couch to 5k' program today.

I'd love some friends, if you feel inclined. I'm pretty easy competition at the moment Smiley Tongue with my low step count and such. I'm going to change that soon, though.
