Have you lost weight since you got your Fitbit?

I am the exact same weight as I was when I got my Flex 3 1/2 months ago!

How about you?

I'm hoping with Spring here and Summer around the corner, that my walking will increase.

Thank you so much for your inspirational story!  I got my Fitbit in March but on April 1st I started a daily workout routine and counting calories. I had no idea that I was consuming so many calories before I started tracking them!  I've been keeping my calories under what I'm allowed and I lost 2 lbs in week 1!  That's the first time in 2 years that my scale has gone down instead of up!  I look forward to hearing more of your progress in the weeks to come, stay motivated and keep up the excellent work!!!

I got my fitbit 2/18/17 and with it I have lost 20lbs.  I changed the way I eat on January and I am at a loss of 35 lost pounds.

Fitbit helped me add regular moving to my day.  I love the hourly alarm. Without it I would sit for 8+hours and leave my seat once a day.

I lost by eating few foods from the center of the grocery store. I buy produce, lean meats, full fat dairy and nuts.  For grains it's steel cut oats, Ezekiel low sodium bread and I rarely eat out. I'm following the Dash diet and the only modification I added was the full fat dairy instead of light products.  I find full fat keeps me satisfied.  I eat 6 times a day between 5am and 6pm.  I love that I am never hungry.

I have lost 10 lbs since 14th Feb, despite a really low metabolism, thanks to logging every mouthful that goes in and walking more. I find that fitbit keeps me on track.  Having a pain problem today, but determined to get the steps in.

Thank you for sharing! This is the motivation I need! What do you
consider "Hairy Diet Food"? I'm still trying to figure out how to eat
right.

Hairy Dieters

Hearty food which will keep you from getting hungry, giving you a load of taste for not so many Calories.  My husband is doing really well and I have paid for him to join the club, where he is logging his food.  He is even enjoying the cooking.

Hello everyone,

After I bought this Fitbit charge 2, I did really progress well in my weight reduction. I started hitting the gym since last year April, but I don't see any progress until June, then I concentrate on my diet and I wanted to buy an activity tracker and found Fitbit would help me. I am wearing it all the time. it does help me. now I am 79 from 98.

I have lost 15kgs but now haven't lost anything in a few weeks. I really need to stay motivated by hitting some step goals (15k steps / day). It would be wonderful if you could add me as a friend for challenges to keep us motivated!

Best Answer

How have you been getting to 15K/day?

Best Answer

I get 8 to 10K at work alone, I park on the top floor of our garage, furthest from the entrance and my walk in is around 1K, when all my other co workers go out to smoke, I walk the garage, back and forth it's around 1.7K. 5-6 trips per day adds up, then I walk at least another 5 miles when I get home. I try to get 10 miles + each weekend day. It takes a lot of self motivation, but over the course of 16 months, I have logged over 4300 miles. I have not walked less than 5k in any given day in over a year. Emujo

Shortly after getting mine in late December I decided to start tracking consumed calories. Despite consistently eating right around 500-600 calories under FitBit's estimated burn, I literally didn't lose a single pound and it was very frustrating. However I also have hypothyroidism which is known to be a diet killer because it messes with metabolism. So I decided to deduct 600 calories from the calculated FitBit totals and adjust my eating habits accordingly; that was near the end of January.

I've lost nearly 40 pounds in that time.

Having the FitBit track everything for me combined with my calorie adjustment (I track the FitBit numbers in a spreadsheet where I use formula's to handle everything) has allowed me to forecast my weight gain/loss with a high degree of accuracy. The only unpredictable wrinkle is when I'm forced out of my routine where I both don't get my regular exercise and also consume junk food with more calories; those days have been killer (but very infrequent).

In the 91 days since I started wearing my FitBit I haven't exceeded my calories burned even once and I've averaged a daily deficit of nearly 1,600. Having the tracker has been a godsend to this lifelong weight warrior.

@DavidSchneier,

For me, the Fitbit Surge overestimates calories burned by 10-15%. The Zip is 10-15% under. The Charge 2 appears to be accurate. The difference is higher when the activity level is higher.

Hi 1step4ward, when you feel you are not reducing anymore it means you are in plateau, you must focus on your diet. Try to do carb cycling watch out for some videos in you tube you would be enlightened. Then you will find yourself on track in progress towards weight reduction. Keep walking join with me in challenges I will try to add you.

Are you sure about that plateau determination? Are you sure it's not because they are consuming too many calories, carbs or otherwise?

will do.

No, my goal is 7,000/day and I have been meeting that pretty consistently.  I watch what I eat and keep under the calories allowed.  It did tell me (I joined the Premium) that I needed to eat more carbs, less fat and more meat.  I exercise 3-5x/week on treadmill and weight machines at the local gym.  I am on a medication that lowers my heart rate so it is hard to hit the target heart rate when I exercise.

I got mine 2 weeks ago. down 4lbs.

I've had mine since April 1, set it for 1000 calorie deficit (I have 100 lbs to lose) and have lost 7.3 lbs so far.

This has been the easiest diet/exercise plan I've ever attempted. Usually I do something stupid like an 800 calorie a day diet or a 1700 calorie a day diet but I walk 12 miles. You know, something you can only sustain for about a month before crashing.

My problem has been my variable activity levels. I've gotten 10,000 steps everyday since I got the thing. I work in a library and while a lot of people assume I just sit at a desk all day, I really do spend a lot of time on my feet. Only occasionally do I have to walk around a bit at home to hit 10,000 steps. However, the reason my previous diets failed is I would try to stick to them on a day I walked more than 12 miles. Then, the next day, I would binge. Tomorrow is my first theme park day since I got my fitbit. Looking forward to eating appropriately for my activity level! I'm going to keep eating what the fitbit tells me to eat as so far for me it seems very accurate. I do weigh and measure and log pretty much everything I eat. I have to or I will forget that I've already had a snack. lol
