Have you lost weight since you got your Fitbit?

I am the exact same weight as I was when I got my Flex 3 1/2 months ago!

How about you?

I'm hoping with Spring here and Summer around the corner, that my walking will increase.

@Linda888

Hi Linda888 !!!

Lack of willpower resulting from being youth challenged, alcohol, dairy, lack of commitment,  mindset, consistency and sugar ... so OK if you add pizza, really good Mexican food and a few other things we might be twins .  Actually you might find a lot of "twins" in the fitbit world or at least near "twins" .

How about positives for a second ... you are trying, you want to succeed and you're not likely to give up ... pretty impressive all in all .

The other half of all this is calories burned and zones (cardio and fat burn) steps per day, week, month ... is that steady, increasing, marathon running, decreasing ??  What about non weight loss goals, short, and long term rewards for achieving weight OR fitness goals ??

The 3rd half of all this (sort of like part 3 of 2) is the fun factor ... it all works better if you like doing it and fitbit is supposed to be fun I right ??? (this is where you say, "of course, sure, definetly")

The 4th half (yup, part 4 of 2) is patience ... gotta be patient to make lifestyle changes and setbacks are all part of it .

Things that help ... friends, groups, challenges, becoming obsessed with the #s on your app and smiling here and there meaning  😞   =  NOT good ... but 🙂  =  the way to go .

Hope you're doing well after your hip replacement.  Muscle problems seem to be the one thing that can happen at any age and any fitness level.  When my muscle act up Ile tell myself I'm just like a seasoned athlete.  I just do think from what season or year lol

Yes, I understand the frustration ...

My will power and focus is not what it was when I was younger and I am really happy to have the fitbit, because it has made me aware of how much or little I walk/move each day.

A lifestyle change is in the not too distant future, where I will really enjoy gardening and having less stress that I do now : )

All the best ... something that needs working on for all of us

Yes, this is correct for me too when I focus and log consistently : )

The calorie counter on the Fitbit dashboard is far too rudimentary to use properly.

It would be relatively easy to improve the data to make it similar to the Livestrong or MyFitnessPal Apps.

For instance a salmon bento box at a sushi restaurant or a Vietnamse bowl of noodles are common menu items for many people but they are not in the the Fitbit data.

I agree, and wish that Fitbit would improve their calorie count program ... it is definitely too basic and quite inaccurate ... I use MyFitnessPal and it works for me (when I get down to it; a bit slack at the moment : (

I love using https://www.nutritionix.com/ Track app for my calorie/food tracking. My fitbit is set up accept my Track entries as Track pushes that info to my fitbit. And I ONLY log burned calories from deliberate exercise into Track.

I mostly use my fitbit for workout monitoring and over all info like daily calorie burn, etc. Not much into the Step thing.

I say do what works.  I use my Fitfit to keep track of steps.  I am now aiming for 20,000 every day...no slacking on weekends...they are another day.

@Rinoster so you already have alternatives for calorie counting that include Vietnamese noodles, sushi box whatever ... should fitbit add those along with seaweed, grass clippings, chicken feet, cow head, and rocky Mountain oysters ???   ... Remember nothing can be everything to everyone . If you have a hammer don't try to saw wood with it .

@FrannieMa exactly correct !!!  20k steps a day is pretty impressive, more so for 7 days straight 😀

@Linda888  "the longest journey begins with the first step"  That step can be a small one but the journey does not begin until you take it !!! (it's usually the hardest step)

I’ve lost 11 lbs on my Fitbit Charge 2.  I had a flex and never lost.   The heart rate monitor helps in weight loss.

I got a fitbit a few years ago and didn't do much with it.  This year, I made a New Years resolution to diet and exercise, a lot.  I have lost 90 lbs since Jan 1.  The Charge HR and now an ARIA scale helped me keep track of everything and celebrate milestones along the way.  It made for a good cheerleader.  I have a little more to go, and trying to find inspiration to keep it up!

How wonderful.  Proud you must be.
Keep up the good work and don’t let anyone tell you that “Oh, one little bite or food won’t hurt”.  Keep to your guns and think happy.  I bought a little black leather skirt that I put on now and then just to make sure I am keeping i shape to wear it when I am ready.
Good luck.

90 lbs in 4.25 months (yes, @SunsetRunner, it’s 4.25, not 5.25!) is amazing and would put you in Biggest Loser league. Can you be more specific about what you did in terms of eating, exercising and life style to achieve such an astonishing result?

I have lost weight since getting a Fitbit Charge 2. I was 380 pounds in 2017. I am now down to 270 pounds. The calories tracker also helps in the Fitbit app to keep track of calories going in and out.

Just an update, my weight loss journey continues: March was an up-down month, with the vacation week. Got back on track mid march. I continue to track my workouts with Fitbit & monitor my calorie intake with MyFitnessPal app. I'm down to 217 lbs, with my new target set at 210 lbs.
