Homemade recipes and the food tracker

I have used MyFitnessPal in the past to track calories. With my new Fitbit, I was willing to use the Fitbit tracker instead to have everything in one place each day. MyFitnessPal has the option to pick homemade recipes out of a list, so that I can at least pick something similar to what I am eating. The Fitbit tracker seems to have only name brand or restaurant foods in the list, with the exception of things like fruits and veggies or perhaps a boiled egg.  I rarely eat out, we cook and eat homemade foods. I tried to look into entering my recipe in to the Fitbit dashboard online, it seems that it is also geared towards something that already comes with a nutrition label (which seems to me, would also come with a scannable bar code, so why would I ever want to manually input things then?).

Any ideas or helps on this? It would be lovely if there was a way to go online to the dashboard and put in a recipe and then I could pick one serving of the recipe, etc.  Maybe I'm just wishing and hoping and dreaming.....

Thanks!

There are several sites online that allow you to enter your recipe and then get the nutrition information which you would then enter into the Fitbit tracker. That information will then be available whenever you make that recipe. I have also entered individual ingredients for simple recipes, estimating the quantities. One of the recipe analyzer sites I've used is http://www.caloriecount.com/cc/recipe_analysis.php.

Good luck.

This is what I do as well.
