Right now I strive for 2,500 calories a day - sometimes close to 3,000 ! That combined with proper eating and my Fitbit One - I am getting there one step at a time !

My goal is to burn at least 2,500 calories a day but I'm actually burning anywhere from 2,800-3,000 calories (about 1,200-1,400 calories intake) so a net calorie deficit of around 1,800-1,400 calories.
Walking about 7-10 miles a day, some days half jogging, others just walking around 3.5 mph.

I don't strive for any amount, it's whatever I happen to get with the planned workout.
So on rest days perhaps as low as 2000, and 5000 on couple bigger workout days. Avg about 3500.
And the workout for me that burns the most, biking, because I can put in a sustained hard effort and not feel the ill effects running might cause. And swimming just can't get that fast.
1000 cal / hr on bike is much easier on joints than 1000 running.

Biking is what I like too - I can usually get around 5 miles before work in the mornings - at least while the weather cooperates ! Biking does most certainly help !

Yes, I jog too or power walk - so many options - soon to be a rebounder - I'm looking for that calorie burn that gets me close to 2,500 on my Fitbit One - so I can kickstart the weight loss again !
