How can we find what model Fitbit uses to calculate BMR?

Or indeed any of the calculations its doing behind the scenes that it DOESN'T give us the numbers for.

Not the proprietary ones like it's calorie expenditure estimates.

But the real basic ones like BMR.

IS there anywhere I can find what BMR (or even BMI) Fitbit thinks I am. I know BMI is a nonsense, but it's at least a number I can see if they have even attempted to get the calculations right

I have seen which calculation Fitbit uses for BMR (basal metabolic rate), but forget.  But if you just google "BMR calculator", you will find several on-line that give very similar results.

You could find BMI (body mass index) calculators just the same way.  That is a definitely defined number, with no leeway on how to calculate it.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Yes there are many places to give you a number based on 5 or 6 different models.

I want to know which one Fitbit uses so when I have to do my own calculations and offsets of the kinds of things that Fibit doesn't, then I know which assumptions Fitbit is making.

Without knowing that, it's harder to make my personal calculations more accurate.
