How does weight loss affect heart rate zones?

I’ve lost 39 pounds in the last 6 months. I’ve been doing cardio, weight training, and watching protein, sugar, and salt. I’ve noticed recently that it is easier for me to enter the cardio zone,  it it is almost impossible to get my heart rate up to where it used to be when I was beginning this journey. How does weight loss affect the entry into different heart zones - and heart rate itself?

In a nutshell, your heart is becoming more fit. It was doing that thumpathumpathumpathump back when you were heavier and startng to exercise. Having lost some weight, and with doing cardio training, your heart is stronger (its been doing more "lifting" aka pumping) just like your arms and legs have been with weight training.

Therefore your heart is better able to do its job efficiently. Your resting heart rate should go down as well. Just as you need to lift heavier weights to feel the burn, you'll need to increase your pace or effort to get your heart working harder into the Peak zone.
