Lew, I respect your comments and they are well taken with all due respect!  However, everyone has there own regimen and to each his/her own.  I am not being negative to your regimen but we all have to do what we have to do to lose weight

Take care and have a nice and safe 4th of July 2014!!

God Bless!

I am completely obsessed with my weighing, i weigh everyday in the morning and sometimes in evenings too on my Aria scale, Aria scale logs my readings directly to my fitbit account. and my fitbit gives me range of lowest to highest in weekly progress report.

So my goals are always to make my lowest weight this week to be the highest next week 🙂

Also i don't beilive in weighing weekly, bcoz if for all reason(like had bad day before) and my weekly weighing comes more, i'll be more stressed . By weighing daily, with all fluctuations i know end of the week that i have still made progress even if 1-2 days weighs were up.

Harleen.

I weight in as well each day, an hour after walking three miles or so. I do this to track my weight, though I take action based on the results. I never allow it to dictate my mood. I've been able to retain a weight level that I am now happy with and am trying to stay at. My weight tells me if I can have that taco or not, or if I should walk a bit further tomorrow to burn off some calories. It's become part of my day and I think it's been a healthy thing, as it appears to be for you. Keep at it and I hope you get to where you want to be.

i prefer to weigh my self about once a week, twice tops. make sure you do it the morning, before you eat [water included] otherwise it the scale will be incorrect. hope this helps!

I weigh in to satisfy something beyond just knowing if I'm keeping my wight in check. It seems to act as a source of support and varification that I'm under control. As a result, I have to weigh in at least 4 times a week. If I don't I feel that I'm not truly managing the process.

I too weigh in daily first thing in the morning. I do get rather obsessed with it, but it helps me gauge progress and what I might need to do differently. Yes, the number is only one measure, but for me it is an important measure for motivation.

I haven't weighed myself yet i started using my fitbit on oct 29th 2014 and have yet to weigh myself. and i guessed at my starting weight. I have no scale but intend to get one end of this month. to weigh in after one month being on fitbit not dieting just watching and reducing how much i eat. i hate diet foods as they are really not good for you with all that artifical in them. but i love to snack on a handful of almonds and i feel full after eating them. only around 100cals. scared alittle to weigh in after a month though but i think it will give me a good point to start with. will let every one know how much i have loss on the 29th of Nov.

Sounds like your're on the right track. I got my FitBit in December 2013 and startred walking 3 miles every morning. Lost 24 pounds in 5-6 months and I've kept it off. Still walk each morning and feel good. I weight each day simply to validate my committment to being healthy. I watch what I eat and do not define what I do as a diet. It's simply a change in my eating to something lighter and healthier.

Keep up your efforts and good luck.

The reason why people say to weigh in once a week is because some people get frustrated with not seeing progress daily. Weight is like a yo-yo. For me it is up one day, down the next, but over time it goes lower and lower.

I weigh in every day. If you want to weigh in every day - that is completely fine. Just remember that if you are doing everything right, then don't get frustrated by the lack of  *DAILY* weight loss - you are still doing the right thing regardless (because you are probably dropping such a small amount of weight daily - maybe .3 of a LB daily). But again - it is Yo-yo. A common trend for me may look like this: DAY1: 173.5, DAY2: 174.5, DAY3: 173.5, DAY4, 174.4, DAY5: 173.3. By day 5 im .2 of a lb lighter. Obviously the values depend on how much of a deficit you are running. Because im close to my goal im running 250 calorie deficit, so the drop in weight is very little!

If you are doing the weight loss properly - you will lose that weight. You may plateau, but you will lose it.

I went from 290 LB to 170 in a little over a year weighing in every morning (which was aproximately 8-9 pounds a month, which is healthy weight loss). If i was up in weight the next day, i said to myself "meh that's fine because I am still counting my calories for 2 lb a week and im doing everything by the book, so that is OK!"

I will be weighing in only once per week, but mostly because I travel for work and am gone Sunday night through Thursday night, so Friday is my weigh in day and the day that I started using fitbit.  I really like the idea of measuring as well.  It is true you can loose fat without loosing weight, although that tends to happen when you are closer to your target weight.

I've always been told to weigh in at the same time... Once a week. However....I am scale obsessed like some of the others who have posted. Do what keeps you in check. 🙂

I used to weigh once a week but i found that if i was bad one day it didn,t matter as could make up for it later in the week however that never happened ......so i now weigh every day just to keep me aware of what i,m doing. So far it is working as have lost another 2lb this week so 5lb since new year.

I agree with those who say that daily is alright.  I find that if I don't force myself to track my weight daily, then one week becomes two, two becomes a month, and the next thing you know you're not getting on the scale at all.  Maybe once a week, works well for some people, but for me, I need that daily confirmation of what I'm doing.  If the weight loss isn't where I want it to be, I'm then even more determined to stay on track with my weight loss goals.  If it the weight loss is good, then I'm tickled pink and even more excited about continuing my effots.  If you are the type that's easily discouraged, then I would suggest only once a week.  But if you go at it with the understanding that there will naturally be ups and downs, daily can be a good incentive!!!  Good luck all!!!!!

I am another vote for every day first thing in the morning (after a bathroom break for most flattering reading lol)!  Definitely keeps me motivated. It was a little depressing to begin with, seeing my high weight, but now I am actually losing a few pounds it does keep me motivated.

I will avoid the cake and get some extra steps in today if I weigh more than I did yesterday...
