*I'm New* Friends, support and motivation needed!

Hello - I'm Shell! I bought my Fitbit Charge today and I'm figuring out how to work everything. I'd love to find supportive and friendly people to talk with. We all need help some times in the motivation department.

I am 30, married, my husband is a Marine and we are stationed at Camp Pendleton (Oceanside, California). Within the past 2 weeks I've lost 5lbs to get me started. I stopped drinking pop, stopped going out to eat as much and just ate less and moved more. Oh and started drinking more water!

My small goal is 11lbs to get me started from my current weight. My long term goal is 50lbs from my current weight. I'm excited to keep going and looking forward to my fitbit helping me not sit on the couch so often!

Please feel free to add me or message me! I can offer support and motivation to you as well! 🙂

Hi Shell.  If it is motivation and support you are looking for, you will love it here.  I started fitbitting Dec 31st and have found the forums to be informative as well as supportive.  There is nothing like the feeling of so many people cheering for you to make you want to do your best.

Welcome and congrats on your 5lb loss.  Great start!

Hi Shell

Welcome. Great steps so far. Some of us are doing the Mother's

day challenge. It is listed under discussion then weight loss.  Loss x lbs by Mom's Day. I started last week10 days ago with 13 lb goal by May 15 or whenever MD is this year. Reasonable goal and love the inspiration. Man oh Man when I have to log it and see how many calories it is I don't want to eat it. Lost 3 lbs so far by getting up and dancing, cleaning, going to zumba and cardio dance classes. Now that's a fun way to move.

power greens & fruit smoothie is healthy and filling and low calorie that I'm sipping on now. No more unconsciously eating nuts and figs while watching the tube.

Good luck and just keep trucking.

Welcome! This is a great community and full of supportive people! I also live in California, but am nit sure where Oceanside is. How are you liking the Charge so far?

So glad you're here Shell.

I'm new here too.  I joined earlier this week.  You will find great folks here, and YOU are now one of them. 🙂

Between the fitbit, app, and community, these are awesome tools to set us on our way to feeling great and living fit.

Thank you for the warm welcome! Oceanside is between San Diego and LA *ahem* next to the ocean. lol

My first day went pretty well. I took more steps than I thought I would. I also did 56 active minutes which was great. I'm liking the Charge so far. It isn't a bother to wear and is easy to get used to.

One struggle I have is I'm a picky eater! It makes it very difficult to make the best food choices. To some people it makes no sense, but I'm just one of those people that cannot eat things that I don't like the taste of.

It was so nice reading the posts.  I have tried over and over to lose weight.  I have not been good at keeping this up.  I am starting over today and I would really appreciate the support.  Maybe for me participating in the discussions will be what I need to finally feel success.  I hope to be supportive to all of you as well.  It feels better knowing that other people may be going through the same struggles as I have been going through.

Hello And keep up the good work. Cutting out soda is a big plus for you. I too have 50lbs to lose and I swim three days a week and walk the others. So far 13.4 lbs lighter. I also follow the weight watcher plan. If you'd like to join let me know. I can send you an invitation.
