This year is my last in high school and I have been stressing so badly over college applications, finishing out the semester with great grades, saving money, and staying in shape on top of that! I'm been extremely off track, up fifteen pounds since the end of my junior year and I need help staying on track:P Worst part is that when I study I either don't eat or eat EVERYTHING, and I have the worst self control: I try not to buy unhealthy food because I know I can't control myself around it yet somehow everyone else in my family brings it home for themselves and offers it to me and I can't resist...GAH! I keep believing that once all the college applications are in and the semester ends then I'll start then but now I'm afraid if I don't try to get back into it now then I won't ever... Any advice?? Thanks!

Welcome to the forums!
It is really hard when others bring the stuff in and offer it you. You just need to make up your mind to stick to a plan and then do it.
Maybe you can even tell the others not to offer it to you as you really want to get healthy.
But it really all comes down to you. Make up your mind to do it and stick to.
When Im stressed I tend to go for a walk and try to think about it. It generally calms me. Or some other form of exercise. It really does help with the stress level.
Keep us posted as how you are doing!

Hi! First....deep breath. Let stress go. Doing great!
Second, knowing is more than 1/2 the battle. And do note, that the sugar and processed carbs in unhealthy food is highly addictive...hence cravings and compulsion...
Opps...need to go find lost cat...more in a bit.....

Your emotions are controlling you. If you want to help yourself start exercising asap at least 30-45 min and I don’t care what you do. Run, lift weight, play tennis, play ball do whatever but do something.
Also your age, hormones etc.not easy for now.
Keep in mind. Stress is side effect of emotion. Don’t let your emotions to control you. Exercise will help.

My senior year I was working 2 part time jobs, also in the middle of college applications, honor society & club activities, and stress was on overload. I also played softball & was a cheerleader. Try squeezing sleep in sometime lol
I quickly realized once I got married and had kids that the reason I was able to stay fit was because I was playing sports & active. Even if it's just a half hour each night go for a walk, run, look up workout videos on YouTube and get moving. Grabbing food on the run was a normal thing for me because I was in between school & work from 6:30am till 8pm, then had to come home and work on school work. If you have to grab food go for a healthy option, or make sure you have healthy options at home. What I have found is a great thing to have in my house at all times is low carb high fiber wraps, low sodium deli meats, salads/spinach, & low fat cheese. I can make a wrap in less than 5 minutes, packed full of good nutrients & still fills me up.
