I'm struggling to lose weight after second baby

Struggling loosing weight after second baby. She’s almost two years old now and my weight hasn’t went anywhere. I gained 50 lbs during pregnancy and dropped 27 within the first a couple months, and now I’m 8lbs heavier and still have 25 lbs to loose.  I’ve been working out for 10 weeks and I’m gaining weight instead.  Its never used to be this hard for me to loose weight in the past.  Any suggestions?

Exercise is  important for good health but all the studies show that people who exercise to lose weight, eat more and DON'T lose weight.  I exercise every day, am very healthy, and I suggest you forget exercise and concentrate on food.  You could start by eliminating sugar and flour and reducing the amount of fat in your diet.  Sugar and flour are totally unsatisfying.  They just cause you to want to eat more and more.  Fat and alcohol have the most calories and you must reduce the calories you are eating each day.  Try to find a few NEW FAVORITE FOODs to eat.that have fewer calories than a couple of your current favorites.  That will not be easy but it will be the easiest way for you to lose weight.  Personally I could never follow anyone else's diet.  You don't have to follow anyone's diet either.  If you can eliminate flour you might want to eat some popcorn just for a dry food.  Good luck

Hello @Ktsachs1986. Welcome to the community forums! @Glenda Nice to see you around and thanks for your input!

@Ktsachs1986 Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We know it’s not always easy, but losing baby weight can be simple. It might be time to take a closer look at your portions. Have you recently weaned or dropped a feed, but haven’t adjusted your portion sizes down?

How about snacks? Sometimes, when you feel too tired to prepare meals, or you’re bored, it’s easy to find yourself snacking throughout the day. All these snacks add up though, so if your baby weight isn’t budging, skip some of the snacks, or swap them for fresh, simple cut up veggies or a small piece of fruit. Breastfeeding definitely warrants an extra snack or two but when your bub starts solids, this often coincides with a drop in feeds. So you might need to reduce your portion sizes to match the reduced calories being used to produce breast milk.

In addition, it’s important to avoid dehydration, for a few reasons. Firstly, dehydration can sometimes be misinterpreted as feeling hungry. Secondly, some studies say your body needs between 2 – 4 litres per day (depending on your size and weight) to keep your metabolic processes working effectively. So make sure you are drinking at least 2L of water daily and carry your water bottle with you everywhere so you can sip regularly during the day. Don’t wait until you feel thirsty, as thirst can be a poor indicator of whether you’re sufficiently hydrated.

Hope this helps.

Drink a gallon of water.  Eat lean meats and veggies, no fried foods. I've been doing E2M, it's a paid 8 week program but then you gain access to the program at no cost. I lost over 25lbs in my first 8 weeks with workouts and clean eating from the program. you can look it up on FB if interested, TONS of members with amazing results.
