Did you mean:

I've lost 97 pounds so far.

I thought I'd share some on my weightloss journey.  Last year I was 39 and the worst shape of my life, and hit 300lbs.  I felt horrible and knew I need to do something to change my life.  The thing is I've never been in good shape even in High School I was 265.  After years of trying but never succeeding my girlfriend helped me lose weight. Another thing is I had severve IBS which really affects my quality of life.

At first I started walking, and changed my eating habits.  No more pizza 2 times a week, no more fast food, no more soda.  My forst goal was to get to 250, and my journey started Last April.  Changing my eating habits was the hardest I was addicted to food, and this is why I always failed.  I started my tracking my calories with MFP.  This was the first thing that sttod out I could see how much calories I was taking in, and it was shocking. 3000 + calories a day.

edit: title

Due to my IBS I started a Low FODMAP diet and it turns out the gulten was having a huge impact on my IBS.  After taking out gluten, and eating more balanced protien and vegetables I notice to pounds coming off. By December I hit my goal of 250, and was so happy I was speed walking 3-4 miles a day, biking 10+ miles a day, eating 1800 calories a day.

I stayed around 245-250 until a couple weeks ago I decided to lose some more weight.  I took out all gluten and sugar and with the fitbit I was walking more then even and in the past 10 days I've lost 8 pounds, and today I weighed in at 237.  I now love exercising and it gives me so much energy like Ive never had before.

MFP and Fitbit have really changed my life it gave me something I've never had before, and seeing your progress helps so much.  Plus, you need both I never lost weight like this before and it's life changing.  It's now my routine, and not a chore that's what makes the difference.

Unfortunately I have health issues that started long before my weightloss and it's hitting me hard right now. I have IBS from taking too many antibiotics due to chronic bronchitis. I'm on medication but it seems to have stopped working, and now I get severe constipation I just went 6 days without a bowel movement. Sucks because everyday when I get on the scale the last week I go up a pound because of it being impacted in my instenstines. Luckily working with my gastro started a new medicines yesterday and things are finally moving so I hope to start seeing progress again. I know TMI but it's part of life that I have to deal with.

Anyway a low FODMAP diet helps, and getting away from gluten and HFCS you would be surprised how fast you lose weigh not consuming them.

@LocoMutant: are you down 97 lbs from the all-time high of 300 lbs in 2014 you mentioned in your original post (in April 2015)? Or from the 250 lbs you had reached in December 2014? Or from the 237 lbs you had reached in April 2015?

Regardless, 97 lbs is an impressive weight loss, so kudos for it!
