I would love some advice! Please and thank you. :)

I workout 6 to 7 days a week. I own an eliptical and workout on it for about 30 to 45 minutes a day on a 10 resistance (sometimes twice a day), I go for evening walks, and I do a bootcamp workout about twice a week. My diet is pretty basic, lots of protiene, veggies, and fruits. I do eat some carbs to help with keeping up my energy, and I do sneak in sweets here and there but not TOO often.
I've lost around 60 lbs, but I have this last bit of weight to lose and I'm just stuck. I've maintained the same weight for almost 2 months. Any advice on how I could change things up?? Any workouts I should try? Or foods/diets?

Or should I just invest in Spanx and call it a day? Haha!

Thanks in advance. Smiley Happy

So it sounds like you have a bunch of intense exercise there.

Exercise if done right tears the body down.

It's the rest for recovery and repair that builds it back up, stronger if diet allows.

Where is your rest? Or are some cardio days easy to allow recovery from a tough bootcamp?

Or is every single workout hard as possible? Very counterproductive.

That ends up turning in to one big stress for the body, and stress elevates cortisol constantly, hindering fat/weight loss.

In addition, while a bigger deficit with 60 to go would be reasonable - that same attempted deficit now would be very unreasonable, and an additional stress on body, hindering recovery even more.

A very vicious cycle.

Hopefully you've back off to a more reasonable 1/2 lb weekly, or 250 cal deficit. With 2 months gone, probably would have been finished already with that goal that whole time.

Also, do you manually log the workouts that Fitbit is badly underestimating, so that you were not creating even a bigger deficit?

Elliptical and bootcamp must be manually logged.

Even if you did the above correctly, there is still smaller margin for error at the end to still see success, compared to the beginning.

Do you weigh all your foods?

Great job on loss and having a great workout routine, but remember the workout is about body improvement, the diet is about weight loss.

Thanks for the advice! 🙂
I usually do my 30 to 45 min eliptical workouts Mon - Sat at around 7am or 8am. The boot camp workouts are on Tuesdays and Thursdays at around 6pm. I feel like I get lots of rest...I take Sundays off usually. And I do manually log in those activities. 🙂
I've never thought of weighing my food before, but I'm not opposed to the idea.

I'm going to start the "Insanity" program on Sunday, so I'll most likely give up the eliptical and boot camp.

The last few pounds can be difficult.
Increasing your overall activity level in small ways can not be under estimated. You know the drill...get out of your car and walk it. Plan easy evening Yin Yoga class. Go window shopping.
If you drink alcohol in any amount it is highly unlikely that you will be able to maintain a super slender figure over the long haul. Eating out and processed foods are the other things that should be very occasional.

Find a role model who maintains the weight and see what they do. If you don't know anyone like this check out Lorna Jane clarkson's book.. "More" the fit woman's secret.

Thanks so much for responding. 🙂
I love working out and going on walks. I do drink occasionally (maybe every other week on a Saturday, nothing crazy). As far as eating out goes, I'll eat out maybe 2 to 3 times a week, but I do try to stick to healthier options.
I suppose I could try eating out once a week and change up my workout routine and see how that plays out.
I'll definitely order that book. Any advice, inspiration, and motivation is welcomed.

I know that the biggest reason people plateau is because their body has become used to their routine. So switch it up! Do a different cardio workout, try new foods, try two rest days, etc. Trying Cross Fit is definitely something that might help. If I ever plateau, I switch from the treadmill to the eliptical, or bump up the speed or incline. Those little things can get your body going again.

I agree with eliizabethsdsu.  Switch it up, cross fit is great and I also recommend Jillian Michaels, some of her workouts are even on Netflix.  BTW, Great job on the loss.  You look fantastic!!!!

Do you log your intake or just try to stick to healthier foods?  It's pretty easy to overeat healthy foods, or to eat at a maintenance level when you don't have much weight left to lose.  People who don't do it often dread it but if you can log your intake for even a week or two you might see where the problem is and where you can make some changes.

Good job so far!
